Good Morning everyone
Before I head to work....ugghhh...I wanted to let all Royal Carriage swappers know what my plans are about replacing stroller #3. I've had quite a few questions and ideas so I thought I might address it and see what everyone thinks.
As soon as I have the funds in hand from all the new swappers (currently $40), I will be purchasing a new stroller and having it silk screened like the other strollers. Once I have the funds, first I will be contacting all the original swap #3 DIS'ers to offer them stroller #3 because some lost partially or complete dates to use the stroller. After I've heard back from them, I'll open it up to all the swappers that have already signed up incase those swappers didn't get their complete dates due to scheduling. After that, I will open it up to the boards.
For the first two steps, I'll send PM's to everyone and keep it totally off the thread, thus I won't have ppl throwing new requests at me until I fill all those dates from ppl who are already in the swap.
I wish I could give you a date, I really do. But I simply don't know when the funds will be here. I seriously thought about fronting the funds but with the economy as it is, Christmas coming, and my DH's job transfer I'm not real comfortable with the idea. Also, I'd much rather work (during the slow time of Jan and Feb) filling the dates open and worrying about 3 strollers being in luggage services over the time period than to worry about 4.
I'm a natural born worry wart and really worried about the large lags in the swaps for those two months. When talking to the resorts while trying to find the stroller, one CM/Manager said they will hold things for 10 days and another told me 2 weeks, and yet another told me as long as the guest information was on it they would hold an item three weeks but if the information "accidently" fell off...then the item would be disposed of within 1 week. Our best bet, is to get those dates filled up on the swaps we have and add another stroller when it is busier...KWIM?
I think I'm going to find some heavy duty page protecters or sturdy luggage tags and attach them to the strollers/bags for us to put the next swappers information in. I know I have three swappers who is putting all of my information on the strollers and bags (thank you ladies) but I'm just trying to come up with ideas on how to make sure that we never have another stroller that gets "lost". I would much rather replace a worn out stroller than to replace a "disposed" of stroller.
So what do you guys think? Does anyone have an ideas on how we can protect the strollers? Or maybe a better way of doing strollers that have to go into luggage services? Maybe having other swappers babysit a stroller that otherwise would have to go into luggage services? Maybe doing a combined effort with other swap leaders to babysit strollers to keep them out of storage? Please share any ideas you have so we won't have to worry about strollers getting lost in Luggage Services or you ideas on replacing the stroller when the time comes.
Thanks! And if you happen to be online, a gentle bump to keep this towards the top would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get those open dates filled.
