Royal carriage swap-#1 STROLLER-MISSING-FOUND-MISSING AGAIN

I do have a favor to ask....

Monymony came up with a really neat idea and it was verified in my talks with Disney over the last two days. Disney does try to call the person who is suppose to pick up the item before they dispose of it.

Could I get one person from each swap...who is going in the upcoming weeks to literally paint with a paint pen my information on both the strollers and the duffle bags?

Since the strollers are dark blue and the duffle bags are black, it would have to be a white or light colored paint pen. I thought the best place on the duffle bag would be right along the zipper in big letters put "DO NOT DISPOSE-IF FOUND CALL" then my name and phone numbers. Incase the duffle bags become lost, we would need it on the stroller, I would probably put it right under the Royal Carriage logo. On the stroller, just a simple "IF FOUND CALL" then just my number. I know that is putting my number out there for the world but at least we won't (hopefully) have to deal with another lost stroller.

If you don't have a paint pen, I can mail you one or they are available at wal-mart very reasonable. It doesn't matter to me, I just think it is a neat idea and hopefully help the swap out in the long run.

You could always call the people who have the strollers now and leave them a room voicemail. they can borrow some tape from the front desk and put your info on the tape until someone arrives with the pen.

It's not typical that someone does not use the item they are supposed to be swapping.

I've been running a fridge swap since March, and although it did go missing once for like 24 hours, no one has ever not used it when they were supposed to or they just held it until passing it to the next person.


I think this was just one of those unusual circumstances.

Ohh don't worry about it, I was just trying to get it out there early so we could get the ball rolling. Yes, If the stroller isn't permanently marked by the time you get there, I would greatly appreciate you doing it.

I'm like a planning, organizing, get it done type of person and when someone throws a monkey wrench into the equation...it's like ok, let me in there, do it myself, and get it fixed right now. Only with being in Ohio, I can't drive to WDW and search every Luggage Service and Lost/Found on the property or go to Central Lost and Found...you know...be a PITA. LOL. Trust me, I so wanted to because I can't imagine anyone "disposing" of something as nice as this stroller.

Anyway...I loved the idea marking the stroller in all visible places. Hopefully WDW will call if something like this ever happens again (heaven forbid). Then I can get the swap back on track within a very short time.



BTW-I have talked to Marqisfam4 and she is going to call me again tomorrow...so will I'm giving her the info on born2cruise I'll ask her to attach a note with my information. As for Born2cruise...I've left her a message today and waiting for her to call. If she doesn't, I call her again tomorrow.

I usually check the Disboards a few times during the day so I don't mind bumping us up every so often.

Also, that is a real bummer about RC3. But like a PP stated try not to get too stressed since you are doing a wonderful thing by taking over this swap. Hopefully it was a good lesson learned so nothing happens to the other strollers in the future.

My hubby is having a fit that I paid for a stroller that is gone. Geez honey, we lost 10 bucks.... not like the 31 bucks a day at disney!!! Luckily for us one of the families going with us has "tentatively" cancelled.

I truly am sorry this happened but please please tell your DH...not all is lost...honestly as soon as the new swappers pay, I'm going to replace the stroller and restart the swap. I will make sure that you get those dates.

ok...for the big gap from Christmas to middle of Jan....I have a friend who works at the Contempary and I just emailed her to see if she can store the strollers for that huge lag. I'm not sure if she is going to be around or going home for the holidays but hopefully she will hold them for us.

As soon as I know if she will, I'll give those 6 swappers the information on where to take or pick-up the strollers. If not, I'll come up with another plan of sorts...I just don't feel comfortable leaving them in LS for that length of time.

Another suggestion for tinkercat (can you tell I really feel you rpain?) -- maybe you could order the stroller from Amazon, have it shipped to your resort, then sell it to someone at the end of the week? Take it home and sell it on Craigslist? It would still be less $$ than renting from Disney. Just a thought.
