Now that the Roy Roger's museum has moved to Branson - has anyone gone there or are planning to go?

Happy Trails!
Rae

I haven't gone since it's been in Branson, but I remember my parents taking me there when I was a little girl.

Of course, at the time, I had no idea who Roy Rogers was so I wasn't impressed, but I know that my mom loved it!

Your Mom is probably my age or close enough to have enjoyed him and Dale on TV. It's always been a dream of mine to go there. And after all these years, I finally got my horse!!!!!

Thanks for replying - you lucky girl!!!!

Sounds like a neat place, Rae. Always loved Roy. And I know Marie always wanted to be Dale. Well, I guess I wanted to be Roy too, LOL.

We were just in Branson for the weekend of June 7th and it wasn't opened yet.

Hope this helps if you were planning a trip.

I seem to recall going to that museum as a child. Where was it located before it was moved to Branson?

I just read about this recently. I guess they got taxed out of California.

According to Dusty Rogers, Roy spent $30,000 to have Trigger stuffed for the museum and Trigger then got appraised for $400,000. The government stepped in and nailed Roy for about $225,000 in taxes for the stuffed Trigger.

After hearing that, Gene Autry decided to just bury Champion!

I hope I get to Branson someday to check out this museum. I grew up on Roy and all the others.

others.

After what he did to boost the morale and entertainment in the USA, you'd think some politician would have stepped in and gotten HIM money for doing it.

Those of us who grew up on Roy and Dale know how much Trigger meant - and that wasn't a dollar amount.

Just hope someday I can get over there and be a "part of their world" for just a little while,

A cowgirl at heart,
Rae

Museum is a great place to visit.
We visited last summer.
Many of Roy Rogers collectlibles and Dale Evans things are there.
Some things had to be sold or given up by the family because of the outrageous death taxes in California.
If only Roy and Dale would have know that before they died!
Dale Evans neat vehicle is there, big collection of guns, boots, and other memorabilia can be seen.
Trigger, Buttercup, and Bullet(Roy's dog) are there stuffed.
Shows go on with Rusty and others perform regularly at the museum.
Many family pictures and film can be seen.
Worth a visit when visiting Branson.
Branson is a fun place for any age.

It was in Victorville, CA. When you visit, be careful not to say that Trigger is stuffed - he's mounted - and the staff will correct you!

Weird and Sad. I grew up not too far from that museum and it's a fond memory in my childhood. I hate that they've had to move it, but heck, now it's closer to me than it was before since I live across the country now ;)

We took my cousin when he was a little boy, I think he was 4. he was such a cowboy and he was absolutely obsessed with the boot-shaped ashtrays. He was barely as tall as they were. The pictures are too cute!
