Linda - You can book the Roy/Walt suite merely by chance; or luck. The waitlist is generally a year or 2, we simply lucked out and got the 'Roy' last month, and we have the 'Walt' next year. Right place at the right time, I guess you'd say.
What you need to do is book your cruise and have your
travel agent waitlist you for a category 1 opening... then wish for the best. Might happen, might not.
As far as the advantages?
Well, to us, they're well worth the cost. Anytime you need something, you hit the concierge button on your phone, tell them what you want, and they bring it to you. It really is almost that simple.
I asked them to bring us 6 or 8 bottled waters; they brought us a case of 24. I asked for a few plates of food for our party; they brought a magnificent spread fit for 50 people.
Need a coke?
Right away, sir.
Need some laundry done?
Right away, sir.
And so on...
Plus, you get virtually any Palo reservations you want, spa reservations, excursions, etc.
Ya get what ya pay for!
