Route ? I-10 or I-12

Good Morning!

We are headed down in just 3 more sleeps so I am doing the map work and I have made myself question our route. I know that lots of Louisiana folks make the drive this time of year so I sure hope y'all can help.

I-10 takes us through New Orleans and the 610 loop...I-12 skirts north of the city and hooks back into I- !0 after NO. Last time in 09 we were slowed WAY down with road construction on 12. Is there any construction now? Is the loop up and around worth it? What is so wrong with I-10? We go to NO pretty regular and the 10 is what we use.

I hope this is making sense to someone other than a sleep deprived me
