Round 1, Match 7: Dumbo vs Bambi

This week, two of Disney's most beloved animal classics go head to head as everyone's favorite baby elephant takes on the everyone's favorite little deer.

Dumbo for me. I watched both of these films just last year with my little brother, and we both liked it better. Bambi was decent, but I, at least, did not like it near as much as Dumbo.

These two would have been good together in a cross over movie though!

LOL. "Bambi meets Dumbo" would be quite intriguing.

Dumbo! Although, the "Baby Mine" song in Dumbo ALWAYS makes me tear up, Bambi's beginning is worse. I guess I must be a cry baby!

There is so much more about Dumbo I love. First off, let me say that I love the pretty forest in Bambi, and the little critters, but that's really it. It tries too hard to make man (and hunters) look like bad people. I hate that. Dumbo, on the other hand, was much more enjoyable. From the stork that delivers the baby, to the Casey Jr. train, to the singing crows, to the traveling circus, to the crazy 3D color-dream, to the ending where Dumbo becomes famous, etc. It was just all around better in my opinion.

^ I can agree with that, though I'm not quite so harsh on Bambi. I think for me, I just wish they would have lingered on Bambi as a child for a bit longer. In it, he just sort of becomes an adult overnight after his mother dies. The Lion King managed to balance this out perfectly with Simba (giving him proper amounts of screentime as a child and adult). We hardly get to know Bambi as a child before he becomes an adult.

Otherwise, Dumbo was all around great. I love the little mouse who helps him. He reminds me of a tougher version of Jiminy Cricket.

This is a tough one!!!
I voted Dumbo though, I watched it recently so it's more fresh in my mind than Bambi.
