Rough Seas in August???

Last year we took an Eastern Caribbean cruise in June. I was wondering if the seas tend to be rougher in August. This cruise would be in the Western Caribbean.

What months should I avoid because of the chance of rough seas?

Possibly. Mid-August through late September is the peak of Hurricane Season. And even though the ship's officers will detour the ship if necessary to make sure you don't come near any hurricanes, it's still possible for a large storm to cause rough seas all over the Caribbean.

We have cruised in Aug. the past 2 years. Smooth sailing. Kathy

We have cruised end of August and early Sept. both time smooth sailing. I'm worried about early December for this year. So if anyone has an answer on this one, let me know.

We sailed 12/01/01 and had no problems with rough seas, even though Hurricane Olga was still spinning around in the North Atlantic.
