Rough day at MK

Wow Splash, Pan, and Pirates. :( That really is an awful day for ride closures.

We were there once when all the mountains plus Peter Pan were down at the same time. The line for Pirates was out of control (this was before FP+ messed with the wait times there)...I want to say it was 75 minutes. In October. Harsh.

I was there in July last year. I tried to ride Splash Mountain three times, using a fastpass twice. All three times it was closed.

So glad I'm going in September this year!

Really? I can't believe they didn't give you a FP+ for guest recovery. We were on the stairs at TSM when they did a full e-stop and dumped the queue. We were given a FP that allowed us to come back to TSM any time later that day or for for the following week. I can't believe they didn't do something for you. I probably wouldn't have gone to GR, but would have mentioned it to a CM manning the kiosks.

I did mention it to a CM at the FP kiosk after we used our third FP. We were trying to get a fourth FP for BMTR, which was the ride we missed out on, but there were none left for the day. I explained what happened earlier, and her response was something along the lines of "what a bummer!", so we just rode it standby. We've been to WDW many times and have ridden that ride many times, so it wasn't a huge deal, it just seems like they could do a much better job of handling that kind of situation. In the end, we ended up getting on the ride just as the fireworks were starting, which was actually pretty cool!

sonofanarchy - I feel your pain. We had multiple issues with Disney on this trip, the biggest being their elimination of the evening EMH. Some issues were worked out, others were not. I do hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your stay!

Today has not been fun. Splash is down. Peter Pan is down. 90 minute waits for remaining headliners. It's days like today that you can feel the negative impact of FP+. Lines at FP kiosks are a mile long with people trying to get new FP's.

That seems normal for mid July

Very muggy today. Very crowded as well. Tempers are being tested. I'll try and record any fights that break out.

It is July, and you are in Florida. The heat seems worse in amusement parks because of all the concrete. With all the complaints you've had about Disney before your trip even started, why did you still go, and actually expect to not have an annoying vacation? It seems you were expecting the worst before you even got there. A positive attitude can do wonders.

You clearly didn't see any of my other posts this week. With the exception of MB issues the first 2 days, we've been having a blast. Sorry to disappoint you.

It may read that way in guide books but we've been here in July for 7 straight years. I've never seen standby lines so long. Luckily we picked up a FP+ strategy pretty quick so we've been ok. Just reporting what's happening.

I thought I would try and keep people updated on what's going on while I'm here. Some folks here just don't seem to appreciate it. I'm having a blast but not sugar coating anything. Sorry to those that I was helping out. If you want any honest answers please feel free to pm me.

Just looked at waits. Seems all the headliners are 50-70 minute waits. For mid July at 1pm....I don't think that is too terevery day weterible. If it were September I'd think otherwise. This is why I don't go during summer.

I agree, pretty much what I would expect this time of year.Middle of summer, very crowded, long lines, rain, heat and humidity, just not a good combination.I haven't been to the parks since May as I avoid summer trips.I am going August 18th the first day of school in most of Florida,I still expect crowds, long lines, humidity, rain and heat but with Florida back in school the lines might be a tad better and 3 months is as long as I can go without a trip.I am doing one day at Aquatica,as long as it doesn't rain I'm sure it'll be the best day of the trip.I went one year the highs every day were 95-99 and you barely felt the heat being in and out of the water all day.As far as the waits of 50-70 minutes at the headliner attractions, that pretty much sounds like what you see 85% of the year.

Don't let others get you down. I can honestly say I have being looking forward to your posts the past two weeks. You have been just telling us the story of your trip. I thought from your posts going in, the trip was going to be a disaster but you have shown both the good and the bad. Please keep updating us.

Thanks SoA for the reports, and remaining calm both at the park and here on the boards. I hope the rest of your trip gets better.

What a humid day for Disney. I debated about going solo today but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It's rained 3 times and each time it just feels worse outside. 92 degrees with a heat index of 112 at my house. :headache: Still getting use to this whole living in Florida thing.

It starts improving the second week of October.

I don't blame OP....92 degrees, 3 rides down, 60 minute waits for headliners.....that is my version of disney H@ll......

However- this is why I avoid summer, and ALL holidays. This kind of thing is very typical during popular times.

I think they meant that staying at Universals ,Hard Rock,Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific hotels give you front of the line access to avoid the lines.

But friends have told me not for the Harry Potter attractions. It only gives you an early hour access but no FOL. Same with the passes you can "buy".
