What exactly is the shelve life of a ruby? I was not aware that a gem would spoil. Now I am thinking perhaps I should rotate my wife's jewelry. Sorry to hear that you have gotten rotten, must have been that extra year they tacked on for your birthday. Happy birthday anyways!

I have no idea as to the shelf life of Ruby's or any other gems (and I know a few real GEMS!!!). But I know that because of friends like all of you ....Just maybe....I'm a little less rotten! But still definately spoiled. Thank you everyone for the cards and presents and good wishes. I haven't had a birthday this wonderful since I was in First Grade and everyone came to my party! Thank you for the laughter you have brought to my almost over the hill birthday!
