Hey, I was wondering if the rotten corpse flower bloomed this past weekend at Animal Kingdom? It was supposed to.

That IS bloomed. The reason that plant produces such a nasty odor is because it is so ugly. Colorful flowers attract birds and bees to aid in pollinization. Since this plant doesn't have that. It has developed this terrible odor that it emits. The odor attracts flies, which in turn attract the birds.iwannabeminnie said:Oh my. Is that one what they call "bloomed" or does the center thing open up when it blooms?
