I think Apple customer service sucks. I had a fraudulent charge of $49.99 on my itunes account. I found out after I received an email stating I had purchased Ninjas live 800 honor points. I emailed them on Monday and still had no response. I have called for 3 days and the wait time was so long, I had to disconnect and call later to find they are closed. I get ahold of someone today after being on hold about 20 minutes and she keeps repeating to email them with the problem and they will get back to me in 24 hours. I told her they had not and she just kept repeating it. I need this resolved.

A friends daughter downloaded a free app called tap pet hotel only to be billed $1100 the following day for gifts her 7 year old DD purchased, which were thought to be virtual gifts. She said one gift was $99.

Luckily, I do not have my credit card on file with itunes, just the itunes card, which had $50 on it.

Just got another email saying there was a purchase for Ninjas live for $4.99 for 60 honor points. Emailing Apple is like wading through concrete.

This happened to me in April, I got an email saying I bought a texas hold-um app and $45 worth of chips for it. It took 2 days for them to get back to me, they had to research it for a day or two and it took another day for the credit to be applied to my account. I also had to go through a process with them to reactivate my account. I can't really say better things about apple customer support, they absolutely solved my problem and helped me learn to prevent it happening again.

Did you get the initial email confirming you had sent a request for support? Have you checked your spam filter?

If there's an Apple Store within driving distance can you go there and maybe they can get it all straightened out?

agnes!

Nope, I haven't gotten an email confirming I asked for support. Nothing in my spam either. I hope I get my money back. Glad you responded so I can assume mine will be handled as well.

If you didn't get the email confirming you asked for support then something went wrong. That's an automatic email that you should get within minutes of sending out the request. I don't know how you reported your problem but try this go to apple's website, click support on the top bar, itunes on the left bar, app store and books, pick any category and then on the right you should see where it says email, click that and fill out the form. I hope that helps!

Just wondering, what did they say in terms of preventing it from happening again?

That sucks. ITUNES is notorious for getting hacked into. Never have a credit card on file with them and do not put in large amounts as "gifts", keep the numbers small.

Remember that the next time you buy or give them as gifts.:thumbsup2

I wish you well on getting it resolved.:sad2:

In generalities read this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4156

In my case I make purchases from my iphone... and had a problem a day or two before this happened with my facebook app, so I deleted it and re-downloaded it while I was out. I believe I had my wireless turned on and whatever network my phone pinged to stole my info. I now NEVER leave my wireless on or make any purchases over a wireless network (unless it's my own). My password is also much more difficult now.

I know more peiople who have been hacked through Apple than anywhere.
Its never seems like identity theft but they all get hit with $40 5to 200 dollar charges.

I only let m daughter put gift cards on.

I just got an email from Apple. He said to do this to prevent in app purchases that could be made within a free app. We did not have the free app Ninja Live, but he said to do it anyway.

"please visit your device's (iphone) Settings menu -> General -> Restrictions. Turn off In-App Purchases under "Allowed Content".

The charges were credited back to my itunes card.
