Got to bag check at 5:15. Park opened at 6:36 am. Through tapstiles at 6:38 and got BG 20. FWIW, DH was using our cell service (AT&T) and I was using park WiFi. I got through first on the app - his was still loading. And he has the newer phone (iPhone 11) and I have an 8.

The word is out. Get here early next time like was mentioned 5am. Place is a madhouse and line cutters galore. Wall to wall. Almost to turnstiles, fifty back.

i personally think I’d rather just plan to get there around 6:30 and follow this thread from the car/parking lot and then just enter whenever they actually open the gates and take whatever BG I get. Should still be somewhere under 50 that close to opening which means you’ll get on that day. I don’t think they’ve come close to that few BGs yet.

Anything could happen, but as long as you get a BG and have the whole day to ride it I think most people would prefer the extra hour and a half of sleep and not waiting shoulder to shoulder with people who didn’t shower.

Our Android seems to secure our BG better than iPhone!

So it sounds like the tapstiles opened at 6:36 today
6:35 on my phone.

I arrived at about 5:50am and the crowd was about 20 deep past the ticket windows. Ended up with BG 24.

I was surprised to see the number of people here when I arrived this morning. Word is
definitely getting out to arrive well before advertised opening time.

Yes, you should enjoy your trip the way you want to. If you want to ride you should get here early. :)

Have we heard from anyone yet that doesn’t have a phone that goes to a CM? I wonder what kind of BG they have been getting as they have to actually wait for them to give them one. Maybe they have a certain set of numbers?

And I know for me, I don’t want a late boarding group. If I’m getting up at 4:30am to get to HS, I want to be in a mid morning BG at the very latest, so I can ride a few rides then hit RotR, and leave for the rest of the day.

Maybe as this evolves people will decide that the marginal value of getting there at 5 instead of 6 isn’t worth it. Same for arriving at 6 instead of 7 when the regular open moves to 8 AM. You can get an earlier BG but that’s it. If I thought I could arrive at about 6:15 (or 7:15) and get a BG that gets me on the ride by early afternoon that’s what I would do. Get in, get the BG, then spend time doing other attractions, etc until the BG comes up.

Super bummed. Got stuck at "non functioning" tapstiles. Held for at least 10 mins before we were allowed to try by family in front of us. Ours worked, got boarding group 42 at 655
I should add that we have tickets to the Christmas party which we spent a ton of money for. Really hoping for smooth sailing with the groups and we can ride earlier than projected afternoon
