I wonder if Disney would extend the hours of HS if the demand was there? I know this could be very difficult with the staff already having their schedules.
From what we’ve heard, They won’t do this purely due to needing to maintain the ride. The ride needs the time overnight to be properly maintained to keep Downtime to a minimum.

Apologise if I have missed this but roughly how far ahead of park opening do the parking lots open?
I am planning to Uber over on Sunday which has an 8am EMH opening.
Buses won’t be early enough but if the parking lot doesn’t open until, say 7am, and Uber can’t drive in, perhaps I should Uber to Yacht/Beach and walk over.

I'm sure someone will help you with timing right away, but Boardwalk is closer should you choose to get dropped off at a hotel :)

For those with BGs 100+, what time did you sign up?
I’m planning to go tomorrow and am trying to figure out my timing. I’ll be out late with MVMCP tonight, so want to get as much sleep as I can

Hopefully we don't have to go from the party to go wait in line to get into a VQ lol

Except the old system still had the option of a standby line.

Currently Disney have opened a ride that you can’t go on unless you arrive at the park 2 hours before scheduled opening time. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

That`s a good point. While the current VQ system might be the only way to go for now, Disney has to offer FP for this ride at some point. Showing up near dawn shouldn`t be the only option.

While we`re on the subject, they need to fix the disastrous FP system at DHS. With all this added capacity in the park, it`s ridiculous that virtually everything is Tier One, AND (even worse) your throwaway FPs stay on the system unless you use them or clear them, so that you can`t choose any other Tier Ones all day! That tripped us up TWICE on our October vacation, necessitating frantic runs to guest relations (I was doing the running both times).

At least when MMRR opens, they have to put that ride and the GE rides in Tier One, and everything else in Tier Two. Or maybe SDD should also be Tier One, but again, everything else in Tier 2. That way, there are a lot of tempting options in all tiers, and they won`t have a situation in which the headliner disappears from MDE minutes after the FP window opens (they still have that situation at AK, and haven`t felt the need to take FOP off the FP system).

Also, if they ever implement fp i believe it'll only cut the outdoor queue portion, as the fp line spills into the pre show room with Rey and bb8

Yullin, thanks so much for all that you do ! Been sifting thru the ROTR posts for a few.hours now - possible stupid questions and I apologize.- already planning for our 7/2020 trip - so, at this point there are no FP plans for the attraction? Reading about the VQ and boarding groups, - is only way to book a boarding group thru the MDE app ? I use MDE but thru the web - is there a booking option available using MDE web? Thanks !!!

FP would just make this a bigger cluster. With the boarding groups they can better control when the ride goes down, and IMO with a new ultra popular attraction I think first come first serve at the park that morning is the fairest way to handle it, not 90 days for (certain) club level guests, 60+whatever for onsite, and nothing for offsite.

It also acts as a bonus of sorts as part of a DHS day. It doesn't take up a FP or force you to choose it over something else at rope drop.
I totally agree. I was thoroughly PO'd when I heard about the no EMH thing on top of the no FPs, but this is the best of all worlds - and equitable to all guests, as long as they're willing to arrive early (visiting rides at WDW has always been easier for guests willing to arrive early anyways, so that's nothing new). It doesn't interrupt anyone's current FP plans - and with a 2-hr return time if your group is called, it doesn't interrupt much else either. You don't have to "putter around" - seems like you can go off and do whatever you want, just know if you're called, you'll need to return within the grace period. Love it. Sure hope this is still around when we head out at the end of Jan. I was dreading having to rope drop EMH and then sit there in a massive line while my 10 am SDD FP expired!

I don't think that you can do it through the web :( you would need to visit one of the first experience cm under thr blue umbrellas scattered around the park

For those that got on the ride, how long was the line? Or how long from getting in line to getting off the ride? The whole virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance is messing me up....I originally thought having an Oga's reservation would get us into the Land and then we would just have to get in line for the rides. We have 12 people that I am trying to coordinate and now I am worried about fast passes later in the day and dining reservations. Our trip starts next week! We are now going to plan to get to DHS early, early the day we are visiting. Also, what time will Disney busses be starting to get to DHS?

People are reporting about an hour to maybe an hour and a half from getting in line to getting off the ride. This may change over time.

So relieved things are going well today!

We arrive next Weds onsite, visiting HS Thurs Dec 12. Our RoR back-up plan is 8am EMH on Sunday the 15th. I wonder if the EMH hour have BGs or just a line?

Also, I think it's great that the people who showed up 4am got to ride twice and don'tt blame them for doing so. But if the fervor continues, could they limit RoR to 1 ride per MDE link?

RotR will not be running during EMH.

Waited for a few minutes each time. Maybe 15 minutes of waiting at the longest, excluding time spent in the preshows.

I wonder if the queue for the land on opening day was always just a test for ROTR. They knew it would be needed here.

I think using the virtual queue is a great idea. I would not base too much on today. I hope they continue to use it. As time goes on I would expect slots to be available later into the day.

i would much sooner get in a virtual line when I enter the park than actually stand in line for 6 hours. I am little surprised so many are upset with this option. I just hope it continues!
