Just to clarify- the boarding group option doesn't open on your MDE until your park tickets are scanned, correct?

Also, does it give you an option to select the number of people in your party? I manage somebody else on my MDE account (they dont have an MDE account so it's just her name on my account with her park ticket/magicband linked).

correct, everyone that wants to join a BG have to physically enter the park and then you join just like a fp

For reference, during the first three days it took approx 2 hours and 15 minutes for all Boarding Groups to be filled. That would be approx 8:40'ish based on today's park entry time (granted there is no guaranty that past patterns repeat themselves).
