Well we decided since we're going to be so close to do one day at WDW. I got the one day park hoppers and we're only going to do DHS and AK. I've ridden ROTM and love it, but can only ride it once a day due to inner ear/motion issues and as far as coasters go its about as intense as I can get. How does Expedition Everest compare? I'd like to ride it if I can, but I don't want to do it and and then be sick the rest of the day.

I have a similar inner ear problem at times, not pleasant :sad2:
I can ride ROTM once, maybe twice with a gap, and find EE quite similar. Last year I did EE 3 times in a row.............. felt ok, decided to go back on once more!!!
BIG mistake :sad1::sad1:
Felt a bit unwell for an hour or so.
Funnily enough I plucked up the courage to go on The Hulk last year, after chickening out the year before.......and I was fine on that. 5 or 6 times before I started to feel a bit queezy.
But hopefully you should manage it once at least, it`s a very good ride :thumbsup2

Thank you. I guess I'll try it once!

How do you manage an upside down roller coaster? There's no way I could do it (or anything that spins too much). I'd be sick the rest of the day. I hate not being able to do some of the rides but have found its just not worth being sick the rest of the day.

To be honest I find the big coasters not as bad as they really are very smooth. Whereas ROTM, EE and TOT can be very jerky, and that`s what sets me off feeling a bit woozy. Doesn`t put me off them though, I love them all.
I also find keeping my eyes open helps.....a lot :thumbsup2
I`m really looking forward to trying Kraken this year as everyone has said how smooth it is.
I just won`t look at it first so I can`t see how high it is :lmao:
Glad you`re going to try it though.

It's so funny to read these posts of fellow motion sickers (is that a word?:lmao:) and see what your experiences have been...and then see how different they are from mine. I rode Mummy three times back to back and had a blast. Rode Expedition Everest twice and didn't care to ride it again. Too much backwards part for me.

THe first time I rode ROTM I figured it'd bother me more than it did due to being indoors, but I guess (for me) there were enough visuals that I could focus on that being in the dark didn't bother me.

EE DID bother me...so much that I had no desire to ride it a third time before I left, even though I had won a "Year of a Million Dreams" pass that morning, and had not yet used the tabs for EE!

And the Hulk...one time only for me...even with my prescription Scopace (same drug as that in the motion sick patches that some people wear when on cruises). Of course part of that was due to the severe head banging in the last part of the ride (row 6...the "big boy" seats, due to the size of my chest! :-()

Rode Tower of Terror 7 times in a row one night...it was starting to bother me towards the end.

And Dueling Dragons (which hasn't been mentioned), one time on each side, just to say I've ridden them...and probably won't ride again (I spend so much effort on trying NOT to get sick that there's really no enjoyment for me anymore)

If its not it should be!!! I do know my limits. I can't do anything that spins too much or goes upside down. Certain things I can do once a day and be ok (as long as I've taken Bonine that morning) such as ROTM, Men in Black, Big Thunder Mountain, or the Tower of Terror. There is no way I would even contemplate doing Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Krakken or Rockin' Rollercoaster (although I love the music)!

I don't like spinning or straight up and down rides but I have no troubles on coasters...never have. I don't have any problems on rides that spin (MIB, Spiderman) but don't want just spinning (Storm Force) and I have no problems on ToT. I guess I'm just weird. :rolleyes1

It's a vacation, don't do anything you don't want to:thumbsup2.There is no reason to be unhappy in Orlando spending gobs of $$$.

Mummy and Everest are quite similar and my DW will do them 1 or 2 times a trip. The big coasters like Hulk,Kraken,Montu she might do maybe 1 time in a lifetime:lmao:

She loves Dinosaur,Spidey,Simpsons,R'n'R and a lot of indoor stuff but once she has an outdoor frame of reference she gets queasy and uneasy.Jerky stuff annoys here but she's willing if it's fun.She also tries to watch what she eats so it doesn't exacerbate the problem.

When we come to rides she is uncomfortable on I :hug:her and go do my thing and she'll watch any children and talk with anyone else who's not going. Then we go watch a show or do a ride she wants to do.
We do the same with food,we give everyone in ther party an input so no one has to go somewhere they really won't like.

she'll watch any children and talk with anyone else who's not going.

This is what I do too. My kids are older teens (15 & 17, almost 16 & 18) and love coasters! I'll either find a nice spot to people watch and take pictures, or go do something else while they're doing the coaster thing. We're staying on-site so its not like I have to wait for them to get through a really long line.

My DH has followed the advise of the astronauts that helped develope Mission Space. Eat part of a banana or something similar before doing rides where you might suffer motion sickness. Avoid dairy, citrus and tomatoes. A partially full stomach will help. The patch also works wonders for him. Simulators, like Simpsons, and spinnies like Storm Force are still out. But he can ride Hulk over and over.
