given me the strength to admit...that...I...too live in a mixed Disney family.:sad2: The kids (Thank you, Higher Power) all share my mania to some degree but DH -- not at all. It's just a sucking money whirl-pool in his mind. The man is normally so much fun in many ways and places -- but he totally turns into Mr. Grumpy-pants if I even so much as suggest that he go with us. I just do not understand. :confused3

Do others of you have the same issue?

LOL....my hubby pretty much sees almost anything as a sucking money whirlpool........haha.........I have to force him to let go and enjoy the finer things in life..........disney too!

My BF thinks I'm silly for all the times I want to go to Disney, if it were up to me, which thank Heaven it's not!, I'd be living and working at Disney for the rest of my life. LOL. I mean come on, after only finding the MK 4 years ago out of my 28 years of life, I think I got some catching up to do. I wasn't a big Disney fan until we went the first time, and they gave me that stupid packet that said: "So you've finally made it!" And I started bawling! LOL. But he's not as enthused as me. LOL.

I'm single, but every one of my friends thinks my admiration for Disney parks/resorts is completely stupid......which is why I'm planning on going on my upcoming WDW trip alone. ;)

Let me just say this...while my husband and daughter Zena have no desire to visit Disney ever again (we took the kids when we they were young)..both of them sweetly indulge my mania. The know all about you wonderful people here on the boards, they laugh politely at my stories and...and here's the biggest and....my wonderful husband pays for MY TRIPS and even encourages me to stay at the nice hotels! Sure...sure...I bet you're all thinking he just wants me out of the house...but I left Zena home to keep a sharp eye on him and she said he behaved.

I think I infected my boyfriend when we met. Now 14 years later he's the only one I know who shares the passion completely. Isnt' that great ?

Hmm, is there a shot where you can infect people with the Disney Bug? If so, how much?! LOL. My BF would love Disney more if they had more things themed towards Cars and stuff like that. He loves Cars, me on the other hand, contrary to my name love Stitch. But we have a Scotty Dog, so we have to like Lady and the Tramp for Jock. LOL.

Yes, yes it is great!

Gabby was born and raised in FL. She has been to WDW close to 90 times in her guestimation. I went to WDW several times as a young child and to Epcot as a teenager once. It wasn't until Gabby and I got together that I got the Disney bug. Gabby is the one that wanted to share WDW with me in the beginning. Now, I know more stuff about it than she does. I wish that she shared my devotion to all things WDW, but sadly, she doesn't. She would be happy to be off anywhere, but knows that WDW is my destination of choice. She tolerates my obsession and even bankrolls it on occasion. But, she is no where nearly as moved by it's simple joy as I am. Maggie

Actually, it was me. :teeth: I visted MK once, ages ago at Christmas time and had a MISERABLE time. I have come to learn that it was more the people I was with than the park, but it took years of my DP telling me how wonderful WDW was...

We went together for the first time well over ten years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I'm actually more of a Disney freak now than she is! LOL.

Aaaawwww... Unfortunately, we've not progressed to to that point.

I'm very fortunate that my partner fully supports and understands my addiction. I think I've talked her into 2 visits in 2008 :)

I'm the Disney fan in the house. Joe had never been until he met me, and for several years after our first trip together, he always said, "Another Disney trip again?" Very disappointed in him I was.

Anyway, what I find so incredibly amusing was that in the past few trips, they were JOE's idea and I was the one that suggested other destinations. He won.

I'm lucky... I think my partner has it worse than I do. He's the one who wants to buy DVC and a few years back when I was taking my niece he was the one who suggested a full week. But he is dragging his feet on the whole DVC thing... I want to jump in and he is really shops around before he buys so I may have to wait a while.

As for everyone else I have taken on a trip with me, by time we get home they totally get "it".

I guess I'm in the lucky bunch. While I'm the Disneyaddict, he loves Disney too. It's funny cuz I'm the one who gets all excited about the trips and the planning, etc. He just sits there and nods or says "whatever you want," but when the trip is over, he's the one who goes thru the Post-Disney Depression. :-)

Same with, me. Until know he's seems absolutely calm but wait when we're back. If you got any advice how to cure this depression let me know :goodvibes Thx

I used to think that my partner reluctantly supported my Disney addiction, but he recently caved in and admitted that he doesn't.

Our first Disney trip together was to WDW in October 2000. Following that, we took trips to WDW or DL in fall 2003, 04, 05, and 06.

I was planning our annual Disney trip for WDW for Dec 07. I booked our room at the Swan. He told me that he wanted to go. Then, a couple months later the airfare on Southwest went on sale, which is when he admitted that he is burned out from Disney and has no interest in going. I decided to go solo anyway.

We're going to Vegas in March 2008. I'm adding a few extra days at DL to my trip. I tried to convince him to join me, at least for a little bit, but again he refused. I'd rather be solo and enjoying myself rather than be with him and worried if he's having a good time, so I'm OK with it. Sometimes I just wish that he could give into the Disney magic the way that I do!

Well, originally, my DW had to work really hard to convince me to spend a single day at wdw during our honeymoon. But, I had enough of a good time to agree with her plan to return for 3 days (during a 1.5 week trip since we drove both ways) 5 months later because there was a lot we hadn't done. She then managed to stretch it to 4 nights, and then spent the three days while we were driving down talking me into staying for 5 nights and driving hard during the return trip. Skilled negotiator, huh?

Well, as you may be able to tell from my participation around here, she was successful in her attempts to convert me. We had decided to buy into DVC before we got home from that vacation.
