If you have the time, one of the easiest ways to learn a foreign language is to contact a local ESL class and ask if they have a student they can recommend that would be a good teacher but also wants to work on their English. You help them with their English and they help you with their language. I also found that the "Russian in Ten Minutes a Day" and "Spanish is Ten Minutes a Day" are are a really amazing way to learn the basics. With just the Russian book and some Russian speaking friends, I did pretty well learning Russian. I speak "Chootchoots Rooskie" or "just a little bit of Russian" Off topic, my chihuahua is named Chootchoots because she is just a little bit of dog...
I just signed up for this on your recommendation and LOVE it so far! I had 8 years of french in elementary and Jr High with 5-6 diferent teachers. (When we got a new teacher, we usually startrd over from the beginning.
So I'm fluent in letters, numbers, and basic body parts!
) Also a year in high school and a semester in college. I've seen MANY styles of teaching from acting out the words, to immersion with NO help to figure it out
, to flash cards, computer *listening* labs, and of course book learning. This is great. it's a combination of everything AND you can ask for help at any time. And because it's worldwode, there's bound to be someone online SOMEWHERE to help you.
