Roseanne back

I am a huge Roseanne fan, so it's neat seeing all the characters again, 20 years older. Roseanne and Jackie at 60 years old?? But I don't like what they did with David's character. I know he's busy with other projects so he probably can't be on the show much, but 1997 David would never have abandoned his child like that. It made me sad.
Esp with his mom doing the same thing to him.

I agree with you. The David we knew would NEVER do that. I don’t care for that story line at all.

I didn't like the David thing either. I understand he is busy with BBT and can't be part of the permanent cast, but I wish they used a different story line to explain his absence.

I agree with all of you. David would never have abandoned family, period. They did blow that story line!

First, I just want to say that we will continue to watch just because but I feel like I'm on the outside here. It's really not that great.

The story lines are "meh". Does Darlene really not see why Mark should have built the birdhouse the way the paying customer wanted him to? Come on.

Also, I'm not really impressed with the acting. Like I said, my husband and I will continue to watch but we aren't really wowed by it.

Yeah, the birdhouse thing was handled poorly. There's no way a 10yo is going to make a professional-quality birdhouse on his first try. What they should have done was, have Dan build the professional one, while he helps Mark design and build his own style of birdhouse. Then, hang Mark's in the backyard.

I agree that David wouldn't ditch his kids. Especially since he asked, "What's Mark like?", which means he hasn't seen them in YEARS.

I agree that having David ditch the kids is the easiest resolution to the issue of the actor being busy with other work. I guess they could have killed him off, but that would permanently close the door to further involvement with the show (unless they wanted to go Dan style twice).

But while kids growing up experiencing bad parenting often correct that in their own parenting style, sometimes it's all they have known and they end up playing it out the same way themselves.

I'm also not liking how they are playing the David character. It was great seeing him and hopefully they can use him more next season.

I'm really enjoying it for the most part so far. I do agree that the David story line is a bit out of character and should have been reconsidered as well. I'll stick with it though to see how it all plays out.

Loved tonight show!!! I enjoyed seeing Chuck even though he will always be Chief to me lol

I love that they’re bringing all the regulars back. I said right before it began, “I’m hoping we’ll see ‘The Chief’ one of these episodes.”
