Rose Petals to Toss

I am DYING to see pics and read about YOUR wedding!!! Did you start a TR? I really don't have a right to talk because I haven't even gotten half way through my TR.

Yep, my DH got hit in the eye too. Maybe younger men should just be banned from the petal toss all together. Only those mature enough to handle it should be allowed.

Have you gotten your pics back yet? Can you see it happening in the pics?

My smarty was about 55 years old, I guess any age can be immature!!

I am definitely planning to talk to my planner about having her show guests how to do a petal toss. Although I don't think anyone will be childish enought to pelt them at us -- you just never know. If my pictures came out bad because I that I would turn into bridezilla mode . Those petals cost a lot of money.

Carrie - was Rose totally fine with purchasing less petals than the amount of guest? I'm going to have about 50 guests. Can I purchase petals for only 40 guests?

We requested 31 bags for 34 people, cuz we did a real petal toss (not a staged one after the fact) and we figured it would look dumb if the officiant and our attendants left the altar to go get petals and then came back. Rose had no problem with this.

I have heard of brides requesting the bags be filled with less (like the 40 people's worth example) or that the big basket that people grab from be filled with less than the standard per-person amount. I don't think Disney floral is going to fight you on this.

Definitely!! Our smarties were all 30, an accountant, an architect and a IT executive. But we're going to get the IT Exec back during his wedding next year. So it's ok! And we have to get the accountant back for something else he did at the wedding.

Ok, so I think I'm hooked -- $3 a bag is not bad, is it more if you want petals in the aisle?

Yes - the cost of aisle petals is dependant on how many you want, and it's really hard for Disney to give you an estimated price. Some people want a blanket of petals, others want only a scattering.

If you're not picky, I recommend just giving them a price you're willing to pay, like "I want $75 worth of rose petals for the aisle at SBP" or whatever.

HEY!!!! It was 65 not bad at all and I had them on the ground and on my cake table and sand table...I think it was like an extra ten for the tables each so about 85.

i can't beleive that people actually tried to hurl the patals at peoples faces.
