Has anyone done this through Disney yet? Would like reports if you have!

Thanks!

Bumping hoping for new info. We'd like to do the Rose Island Snorkel excursion in April 07 with our kids 8 and 11 who are great swimmers, but have never snorkeled before. Anyone gone recently that can share their experience? How cold are Nassau waters in early April? Is Rose Island the best of the three snorkel excursions Disney offers in Nassau? Questions, questions, questions!!! TIA!

Just checked the list of Nassau excursions on the Disney Cruise Line website and the Rose Island Snorkeling Excursion is not listed. It was there earlier today. Did Disney just pull this excursion??? :confused3

I was planning on doing this in June as well---I just looked and it is definately gone :confused3 "Wonder" whats up with that???? Anyone know???

A Disney Cruise Line CM called my wife and told her this excursion has been cancelled!!

Apparently Disney had a deal with the company running the excursion and the other company backed out.

They are offering Blackbeard Cay as an alternative. This is where you snorkle with and feed the stingrays.

We're disappointed, but hope Blackbeard is fun.

Thanks for the note--I just checked my Disney Cruise Plans on line and sure enough - no longer on there. I also called DCL to see what's up, and was told they are in the process of calling people to advise them that this has been cancelled. I sail this Sunday, and at this time there are no shore excursions for Nassau available to book - I really hope I can get something on board the ship. I've done Blackbeard's already (enjoyed), and would like to do something different.

Anyone know if the shore excursion desk is open as soon as you board the ship?

Wow -- I wonder if this is a temporary thing, or if they will get it back. :confused3 The name of the company is Sea Island Adventures, and there were people on the excursion that weren't on the Disney ship, so you can prehaps book directly. Keep us posted :)

Just got off the ship yesterday (went kicking and screaming) and wanted to let you guys know what I was told about Rose Island.

I got on Sunday and went to the Shore Excursion desk to see what I could do in place of Rose Island. At this time they are offering/recommending Blackbeard's Cay Stingray and Snorkel Adventure in it's place.

The Shore Excursion Desk Manager came out and said that Rose Island was sold, and that w/in 2 weeks it would be in the hands of the new owners. Not sure if the new owners will want cruisers hanging out or not.

Wow -- thanks for the info. I guess we got lucky then, because we really enjoyed it!
