The system has allowed me to do just that- example, there was no 6 person table, but there was 2 available, and I was able to modify my reservation to bump my 4 person adr to 6.

This thread is causing me to have flashbacks of meals with in-laws that didn't get their way about something and then decided just not to eat. That behavior makes for an extremely uncomfortable meal for everyone else at the table. I think we are responsible for our own happiness. You could have chosen to be happy the restaurant was able to seat your entire party together even though you had extra people. Instead you chose to be upset.
You are in Florida in July, dining in a restaurant with outdoor seating, you should expect there might be some sun issues. If the possibility of being seated in the sun is that much of a big deal, I wouldn't make reservations at restaurants with outdoor seating.

So let me get this straight. A CM accommodates a crazy request to go from a party of 12 to a party of 14, you say that said CM rolled her eyes. And your response is to go on the Internet and attempt to get everyone to never eat there again.

Oh I knew there was a reason I was reacting so strongly. This is like my MIL.

Again, my MIL. She knew we were having an outdoor wedding in mid August. Now no one expected it to be 100 degrees in Portland, but still. We told her that if she wanted to wear her traditional Korean dress it was OK. She did. She didn't tell us that she only had a WINTER hanbok. She was nearly dying of heat exhaustion the whole day (as was I, in my big poofy silk ballgown and corset underneath that I had to have to zip up the gown, but oh well (I lost about 10 water pounds that day)). We were only able to get two box fans from the rental company for the outdoor tented reception (thankfully we didn't have sides to the tent). One was on the Irish band. One was on HER. She could have just worn American clothing, she could have TALKED to us, but no, she went with what we "asked her" (we didn't ask...we just said it was OK if she wanted to) and suffered the whole day.
