Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can pass me along some information on this...I've only recently discovered that the Rose & Crown is an excellent viewing spot for Illuminations and that many people like to make dinner reservations to view Illuminations there. I don't particularly want to eat there and i already made reservations for Le Cellier, so i was wondering if it's possible to go to the Rose & Crown just for a drink and make your way outside to the deck to view Illuminations, or do u have to have dinner reservations to get in and view Illuminations. We'll be going in mid May by the way, if that matters. As always, your vast Disney knowledge is always appreciated:cool2:

If you did that you would be blocking the view of people who are dining. The outdoor patio has tables for diners no standing.

However, there is a spot to the left of the restaurant that you can bring your drink to which has benches and is part of the R and C to view Illuminations.

We had Illuminations seating and it was breathtaking HANDS DOWN.

I also ate at Les Ceillers and loved that too...

That is some hard choices :rotfl:
I live in New Orleans and have tons of great places to eat here so for ME... if I had to make the choice I would go with the experience of seeing Illuminations up close rather than the best steak in Disney.

The only bad part is they can't promise you a fireworks viewing table in front. You request it at check in and they try to give you one if its available.

We were lucky and had center stage right down in front. My kids were speechless :cloud9:

The food at the Rose and Crown was pretty good too. I loved the mushroom appy! As food goes, Les Ceillers is much better but they don't have fireworks while your eating :wizard:

Rose and Crown has a patio that is great for Illuminations. People from the bar are not allowed to go on the patio as it is reserved for people in the dining room that cannot see Illuminations from where they are sitting. Each table or area on the patio which is directly on the lagoon is labelled with a waitstaff persons name. If you are eating dinner inside they will ask you if you plan to watch fireworks and when it is time they will escort you to the proper area. You can than go back and finish your meal or just pay the bill and leave.

1) Unfortunately, bar people can't use the patio viewing area.
2) If they were, I am sure there would be hundreds or bar patrons nightly.
3) And, coincidently all of them are thursty at precisely 8:53pm.
4) Then, the viewing area couldn't hold everyone.
5) I know some who tried just making an ADR ressie without intention of eating.
6) Unless they were seated, they didn't get to go to the viewing area.
7) The patio viewing area was intended for patrons of the restaurant.

There are many great spots for viewing Illuminations all around the WS lagoon.* I would not make a dinner reservation at a restaurant I did not want to eat at just to get a view of fireworks which can be seen from numerous other places.* I'd keep your current dinner reservation.

Even if you do have a dinner reservation, you're not guaranteed a patio seat, so it's best to stick with what you have and find somewhere else to watch Illuminations.
