Did the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dinner Package tonight and the menu had changed since we did it this summer.

Before for appetizer you picked Scotch Egg, Cheese Platter or Soup of Day NOW it is the Scotch Egg or a Salad.

Entrees lost the Fish of the Day option (this summer we had Salmon that was excellent).

Dessert is no longer the little trio of desserts. You get either Sticky Toffee Pudding OR Plant Based Gelato.

Drinks are the same.

I got the salad and LOVED it, light, refreshing and a bit different in flavor.

The cheese tray was the best thing going. What a shame. Sure helps in deciding if I want to go there again. No thanks.
I agree it was VERY good. Last time we got that, a scotch egg to share and my one son got soup. It was just two of us this time so I was actually going to order two cheese trays. The scotch egg is good but very heavy. We both got the salad and it was excellent. I loved the "cracker" on bottom and now the hunt begins to replicate.

I think many will be upset by the dessert trio taken away. It was the one part that made it "party/event" like. Not everyone likes the pudding, it's an acquired taste. I should have ordered one each of desserts to try the other.

Unfortunately this is the new menu at R&C all the time, not just for special events. Very pared down. The salad is outstanding, but I will miss them having at least one entree that is relatively healthy like the salmon. The ”Impossible” Hot Pot doesn’t cut it — hardly healthy and does not even sound good.

I booked R&C for my CP package this year because I had always enjoyed it in the past. Very disappointed in this new menu. I will definitely give them some feedback — maybe there will be enough for it to be changed eventually.

Has anyone been recently?
Is this still the fireworks package menu?
TIA

Thanks!
Did you enjoy it?
We did it in 2019 with the old menu and liked it.

Can you just get a plate of chips/fries and call it a day? Nothing else is all that appetizing to me.

Thanks!

Yes, because I hate looking for spots to watch the evening shows :crowded: :rotfl2:. We did it in 2021 and I did prefer the dessert options and the cheese plate that were offered then, but I it wasn't that big of a difference.

The salad was actually very refreshing and good. I had the same entrée I had the previous visit (Shepherds pie) and enjoyed several glasses of wine :rolleyes1.
