My husband and I are still trying to get reservations at LeCellier or Coral Reef on Jan. 20 but are so far unsuccessful. We will try up until that day though, just in case we get lucky.

In the meantime I've made reservations at Rose & Crown Dining Room and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about eating there? The menu sounded great (Hubby is all about the pea soup), so I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

We enjoyed our dinner there, although I found things a bit saltly.

We thought the food was alright.. we did it mostly for the seating for illuminations.. well go again but only to see illuminations from their seating area.. that was excellent! we're definitely doing it again but mostly for the illuminations seating area

We had our first lunch there after Thanksgiving. The lunch was just ok. Since we were using the Deluxe credits, so all 3 of us ordered appetizers as well.
Appetizers: Samosas (best of 3)
Smoked salmon
Potato soup
Main dishes: Banger and Mash (bit too salty)
Shepherd's Pie (good)
Fish and chips (big portion)
desserts: Toffee Pudding (Yummy)
Apple crumble and ice cream X2

We enjoyed the lunch, but probably won't return.

We had dinner there last week and enjoyed it :). I loved it just because I love England, but that's beside the point :rotfl: . We were on the deluxe as well, so for appetizers I got smoked salmon and I don't remember what DH had, and for the main course it was Fish & Chips for DH (huge portion!) and Bangers and mash for me which I loved! I know we got dessert but I can't remember what it was *blush*!

We will go there again, esp. since DS tried DH's fish and chips and realized he liked it (which we told him he would!), so he could use his adult credit instead of the kids' one he used this time ;)

I'm really glad to hear the mainly positive reviews. I feel better knowing that it was a good choice if we don't end up getting lucky at LeCellier. I love a good fish & chips, plus they had a fish & steak meal that's got DH all excited, plus like I said the pea soup. I'm more about the cheese platter as my app.

I was there last week and loved it never been before it was great. I had the potato soup, steak and fish, DH had salmon and lamb it was delicious.

The food was good when we were there but it is the waitstaff that I enjoy here. They are so friendly and chatty if you strike up a conversation with them (same goes in the UK gift shop).

I was really looking forward to our dinner at the Rose & Crown - but we gave it a so-so grade. There were 15 of us - I think everyone got either Fish & Chips, Steak & Fish, or Bangers & Mash (they were out of lamb that night). The fish was wonderful, the steak was tough. There were no rave reviews on the bangers and mash - I think DH thought the portion size was small. If I was going back, I would get the fish & chips!

For dessert, we tried the whiskey cake and sticky toffee. The whiskey cake was good, but I didn't taste any "whiskey" flavor. So it wasn't anything special - just a good chocolate cake. The sticky toffee was really good and something you don't see just anywhere, so I think that's a good choice.

We were seated on the porch - so maybe we missed some of the "pub" atmosphere that we would have gotten inside. Illuminations was L-O-U-D from where we were sitting, so the children with us didn't like it.

I was glad we tried it, but I don't think I'd go back. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't anything to brag about for us.

DH and I enjoy this restaurant. We have found the food to be good, this including: Fish & Chips, the different chicken dishes the serve from time to time, the cheese plate, the mushrooms, and the Bailey's Irish Trifle. I think any Disney restaurant is worth the experience at least once. Try it....you'll like it... ;)

My family of four adults ate here back in March, and we all really liked it. I had the cheese plate which I loved. There was some kind of sweet onion jam on it that was great. My mom got a pot roast that I don't see on the current menu that she really liked. DH got the chicken and my dad got the fish and chips. I also had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We were all happy with the food, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. We lucked out and got a seat on the patio, and it was great to eat out there.

We love to eat there. We've always had great service and love the atmosphere. The Snakebite's are wonderful (1/2 hard cider 1/2 ale).

The food was pretty good too :)

R&C has been a favorite of ours for years. We love the Beef & Barley Soup appetizer and for the main course we always loved the Sheppards Pie. I understand that this has changed recently so you might be better served with the fish & chips. The last time we were there one of our party got the plowman's lunch and it looked great.

And I'm always up for a Guinness. :drinking1

We ate here in August and didn't enjoy it. While is wasn't really disgusting, it's not somewhere I will go back to.

We ordered bangers and mash, fish and chips and the pork tenderloin with tamarind. Each dish was bland and just okay.

The only highlights were the potato and leek soup and the whiskey cake with sticky toffee. The soup was really good and the sticky toffee was good. The cake was very dry but the sticky toffee was tasty.

We are from Louisiana so we are used to things being seasoned (not too salty and not too spicy). Maybe that's why we thought the food was so bland.

DH and I lover R&C. The fish and chips is one of our favorites. The fish is very light and not fishy tasting. Thes best fish and chips we're had anywhere. Last time there DH had bangors and mash and liked it also.

Give it a try. It's worth it.

Our family of seven ate at Rose and Crown in August after my bos' son suggested we try it, and we all liked it. I really wanted the fish and chips, but my luck they were out of it. I wound up getting the roast chicken (the garlic bread pudding was tasty), DS4 had the kids meal chicken pizza (he really wasn't that impressed with it, but he's picky, and used to eating pizza from the shop I work in which is nothing like what Disney serves), DD13 and DD19 both had the vegetable curry, DW and my cousin both had the soup and sandwich, and DMOM had the roasted pork. Aside from DS4, we all were quite happy with our meals, and the service. We sat outside, which was pretty hot, and we were there way too early to watch Illuminations.

We will most likely eat there again when we visit in 2009, but might try for a later time so that we will be able to stick around for Illuminations.

We enjoyed our dinner at Rose and Crown. I don't remember what dh had, but I liked my bangers and mash. Plus, we got an outside table and were able to watch Illuminations, while we had dessert :cloud9: This is, definitely, one of my fav dinner spots, in EPCOT.

We ate there for the first time in early December. The food was good, we definitely enjoyed our meal.
