I keep seeing all these "picky eater" comments. Why not use this to TRY SOMETHING NEW??? Honestly...my parents were all about exposing my sister and me to as many varied foods and dining experiences as they could. We were never allowed to be picky. Whatever happened to TRY something? Especially when you're on the dining plan, so it's not like you're wasting money as if you were getting an actual check. Be adventerous and encourage your children to.
I think it's this whole self-indulgent "Oh, s/he's picky so we won't eat anywhere there's not X, Y or Z" is WHY so many foreign restaurants are becoming "Americanized". They have to or else they wouldn't survive because or "picky eaters".
Sorry for the rant, but come on.
I'm a mom and I agree with you. DD's been going to restaurants since she was tiny and she can either find something she likes on the menu or go without. I'm not going to limit our dining choices so a child can eat one special food every morning, noon, and night of our vacation. (Not saying this is anyone on this thread but I've seen it repeated enough times on these boards to see it as a trend.)
I see so many picky adults nowadays that it really amazes me how limited the diets of some people are.
To the OP:
We love the Rose & Crown. DH is British and likes this little taste of home. Last time we were there, I was the only American in our area of the restaurant.

If your kids don't like what is on the kid's menu, how about letting them split an item from the adult menu?
