Rose and Crown

Just made dinner reservations here for our trip and since we have never eaten here before I would like to hear some opinions on the food. Also I made our ADR at 5:50 and was wondering if this is another restaraunt that does the very leisurely service. I want to make sure we will see Illuminations and really do not want to spend to much time dining. Any thoughts or reviews? Thanks

We've eaten there many, many times and it remains a favorite of ours. Can't help you with the Illuminations part. We eat an early dinner and usually find a spot outside later.

I'm not sure that you can stretch dinner out that long! Even when we've had a server who is less than attentive, we've been through in about an hour.

We love this restaurant! All we've ever ate is the fish and chips but they are really good! I've never seen Illuminations from the restaurant before, but have read on the boards that this is a good restaurant to watch from. The service was fast.

they have a deck outside you can eat on..but you will be done before illuminations..they are pretty quick there..they have a cottage pie sampler..chicken and leeks..shepard pie and some other one..i forget but it was amazing, have a great time

I think the original poster wanted to be done in time to find a good spot for Illuminations, not see Illuminations from the restaurant.

If your ADR is for 5:50, they're probably NOT counting on you staying for Illuminations (and probably would do everything they could to encourage you not to stay that long). So you'll be out of there by 8PM, probably earlier.

Thanks to all the replys, I decided to cancel Rose and Crown and we are going to do a counter service meal the first night we are in Disney since we arrive so late in the afternoon and we don't want to be tied down to a TS meal. So with that in mind what CS meals would everyone recommend in Epcot? This is where we will probpably spend most of our time at since it is our favorite park. Thanks once again

Rose & Crown has counter service. It's just as good as inside and cheaper and faster! We also like America, China and Japan counter service.

ADORE!!!!! the chicken sandwiches and desserts at Morocco's CS. Japan had good things too and you can sit outside by a waterfall when weather is good.
