Rose and Crown

We are building an English Pub in our basement here in the states(Massachusetts) and wondered if the Rose and Crown is similar to a typical pub in the UK?

Any suggestions for our pub would also be helpful!

I would say the Rose and Crown is very like an English pub. So much so I refuse to go when we are in Epcot as I don't want to travel half way round the world to go to a pub I can walk to in 2 mins from my house!

I agree it is styled in the manner of a traditional UK pub. It must be said that it is far nicer than most pubs around here!!

Yes, it's nicer than a lot of the pubs around here too! I don't rate the R&C for food and I'm another one who wouldn't choose to go in there when we're in WDW as it's too much like 'home' (although nicer! )

I'm going to move this over to the UK community board as I think you'll get more response over there

As a former Bar Maid and Pub devotee, I recommend some traditional pub games.

A dartboard is a must, along with shove ha'penny, dominoes and a cribbage board or two.

If you have room you might also like to include two sides to your bar representing the Saloon and Public sides.

Guinness do some great reproduction advertising materials, I haven't checked but I bet you can order online. If one brewery sell memorabilia you can bet that they aren't the only ones!

In the UK we have beer towels on the bar, which are very popular as souvenirs and which breweries supply along with the small carboard beer mats. Who knows a nice letter to the right marketing exec. might get a few sent your way.
