Just wondering what everyone's opinions are about the Rose and Crown Pub. I love authentic fish and chips, so was very interested in trying it. We are looking at it for a dinner on our day in Epcot.

Also, does any one know what time Illuminations is in January? And I believe Rose and Crown has a patio. Does this give a view of Illuminations?

Thanks!!

Illuminations is at 9:00pm in January. Make your reservation at the Rose & Crown for approximately 1-1/2 hours before Illuminations (around 7:30). Check in about 10 minutes before your reservation, smile, and ask to be seated on the patio. They won't guarantee anything, but make the request anyway.

The servers have the timing down pat, so you won't be rushed out the door before Illuminations begins. And if you don't get seated on the patio, you'll still be able to watch Illuminations from the Rose & Crown area, then go back to your dessert.

We've be able to watch Illuminations twice from our patio table at Rose & Crown, and have a reservation this December.

Thanks so much for the info! I just called and was able to get a 7:50 ressie. Hopefully it will work out that we can get the patio seating.
You said you could go outside to watch the fireworks, and then come back inside to complete your meal? Just wanted to be clear on that in case we aren't able to get the patio. But there are just the two of us; maybe that will help up our odds?

We were on a tight budget and this was our one "sit down/nice" meal. We made late lunch reservations. The fish & chips were excellent. The picky eater boyfriend had Shepherd's Pie. I was waiting for him to begin to lick the plate. The teenage boys had Bangers & Mash (?) and the Fish & Chips...no food left on those plates. The server refilled the bread basket many times and always with a smile. It was a great meal.

Denise123: Thanks for the taste review! Yuuuummmm!!!!! I am so looking forward to it!

I've only watched Illuminations from our patio table, but I was told you'll be invited to view Illuminations from somewhere outside if you're not sitting on the patio. I'm not sure exactly where it will be, but it will be on Rose & Crown property. Maybe it's the outdoor area where you can sit with a drink. I don't recall either time having a mass of people on the patio during Illuminations. You might want to check in about 15-20 minutes ahead of your reservation time. And two are much easier to seat on the patio than four or more people.
