Trying to decide where to eat our first night. I want to try new restaurants and Ive always wanted to try an English Pub. I was going to book 1900 PArk Fare but we've eaten there 3 times already and I'm trying to avoid buffet character melals. I just hate having to get up and down and try not to miss the characters. So any reviews on Rose and Crown?

We really enjoy the Rose & Crown and it is a must do on each trip. I like the atmosphere and the decorations, the warm friendly CM's and the good food.
It is fun to make an ADR around 7:40 and to request a patio table. If you are lucky enough to be seated outside (our success rate is about 40%, nearly everyone requests to sit outside), you will have a great view of Illuminations over desesrt.
Even if you are seated inside, they will show you to a spot on the patio where you can stand and watch Illuminations and then go back to your table to fininsh your desert.

You don't need to request a patio table. THey have an exclusive patio for restaurant patrons. Just tell your server you'd like to see Illuminations. The food is great as well.

We have a 7:10, should I make it late so we could see Illuminations? If we get a patio seat at 710 ADR will we be rushed to be done before 9?

7:10 is probably one of the earliest seatings where you could perhaps be able to stay all the way through to Illuminations, assuming you're in that lucky 30% who get tables at Rose and Crown with a view of the show. It cannot hurt to ask. If not, then you may have a little trouble finding a good spot to watch the show otherwise, so you might want to take that into account.

Ours are at 7:20 and since we are on the Dining Plan we will be doing 3 courses and drinks so I feel confident we will still be there at 9:00. After all it doesn't mean we will be seated at that time that's just the time we will be expected.

How many outdoor tables are there?

Rose & crown pub is one of our favorites. If the weather is good get a table outside. Epcot in the evening would be a great way to start your trip. :)

Just a little tip. There is the Rose & Crown inside and patio seating, but there is also patio type seating next door that is first come first serve. Then you can walk over and get the fish & chips from the counter service and take your meal to the patio tables. We were there in January on a semi-rainy evening. We decided to sit down around 7 and get the counter service fish and chips. We got a great table by the lake...with a umbrella. It decided to rain while we were there and we stayed nice and dry under the umbrella. We just waited out the rain and we stayed to watch illuminations. It was great and not as expensive as eating inside and being waited on. It was a great choice for that evening. By the way....the rain cleared off about 8 and we had a wonderful view of illuminations with no rain!

We really like the Rose & Crown too. We have made our ADR for 7:20pm. We will only be having a main meal and maybe dessert so hoping to leave Rose and Crown at about 8:50 so we can watch Illuminations. We didn't want to chance not getting an outdoors table and missing Illuminations. You can find the menu here: http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm
