The latest reservation time to search on rose and crown is 830. We have an 8 pm ADR, is that going to work for viewing illuminations at 1030? Should we try for an earlier time as we'll be there a very busy week, and will the 6 pm eaters be clinging to tables until 1030??

Also have La Hacienda at 915, but will likely cancel as I don't think the kids will like the menu and there is less chance of getting to see the fireworks there I think?

Are you sure it's at 1030? Seems kind of late, I thought the usual time is 9pm with some at 9:30pm.

It's a tough question because it's hard to say how things will go at R&C. They're a fairly speedy restaurant once seated (three courses takes about an hour), but it's not uncommon for seating to take a while. My sense is that if you take the 8:30 pm ADR you'll probably be done before IllumiNations is slated to start (even assuming some delay in seating). I would almost be inclined to say it makes more sense to get an earlier ADR and then go find somewhere else to watch the show rather than try to drag out of meal in case you are seated on time (I think you'll have to eat really slowly to make a R&C dinner last two hours).

I don't think the 6:00 pm eaters will still be at the tables because that's nearly 4.5 hours to hold a table which seems somewhat unreasonable to me. Still, I do think folks with reservations starting around 8:00 pm or later will probably try to drag out their meals to stay for IllumiNations. The nice thing about R&C is that they have a reserved viewing, so even if you don't have a table with a view, you can still go to watch the show. Remember, R&C does not usually accept requests for tables (you can ask but be prepared to told no).

R and c will let u wait an hour from your ressie time if u want to wait for viewing table. At that point u take what they offer or get charged for not cancelling 24 hrs.

They may allow you to wait, but there have also been plenty of reports here on the Disboards of guests being told that the R&C was not taking requests for patio tables and that you had to take the next available table or you forfeit your reservation.
