Hi,
We are making our ADR's and are trying to decide between Rose and Crown and Cape May. Hard to find much about these specific places. We did most of the really popular places last time (Le Cellier, 'Ohana, etc) and are wanting to try different things next time. Cape May sounds great but we are not big clam/muscle people so wondering if it is still worth it.

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Rose & Crown would be our choice. We did Cape May twice for dinner -- the first time it was outstanding, the second time it was only fair (and truth be told we prefer the breakfast at Cape May). We have never had a bad meal at Rose & Crown and we've probably been there at least six or seven times now (lunch and dinner).

We are BCV people, and do *like* Cape May Cafe ( and I'm REALLY not a seafood person at all ) so I don't think you need to worry about that. That being said, however, I would pick Rose and Crown over Cape May any day of the week.

Another vote for Rose and Crown.
We've had both lunch and dinner there and have always enjoyed it.

The food at Cape May, for us, has been inconsistent. Plus, depending on your dinner time, the buffet can be a bit crazy. The way it is set up, people tend to NOT move through in an orderly manner. There are lots of people (including little kids) moving in different directions.

depends on what atmosphere you want during the meal. Cape May is a buffet. It is noisier and people are always moving around you. There is plenty to eat besides clams & mussels. It has also been less expensive for us at Cape May than at R&C.

We tend to visit both on our trips. But if we had to choose only one, DH would vote for R&C.

I have not eaten at Rose & Crown..although I have read where it is highly recommended ...

I've eaten the buffet dinner at Cape May for the last 3 visits....

I like seafood but I really go for the carving station and DH goes for the ribs...the kids like the boiled shrimp....the selection is "good" for the family...

That being said...I chose Cape May only because we have had 3 picky teens...AND because we were staying at BC.....If the same situation came up again (PIcky group plus staying there) I would go for CM again...BUT.....

If it were just DH & I ....I would definitely pick R&C ...I would LOVE to try it...

SO my vote...with the others above....is with R&C....even though I have not eaten there....

LMK if you have Cape May questions...but still...would vote for R&C

Have a magical visit
Mary

I vote for Rose and Crown. I loved the environment there and the food was great when we went there. Good variety!

Liked Cape May. :thumbsup2 Been there almost every trip. Hated Rose & Crown. That is the only place ever on property my whole family went to, hardly touched any of our food and left hungry looking for CS. That dinner was $130. UGH. That said, we're becoming less and less fans of any eateries on property. They've just been sliding so fast downhill. :( One reason we bought DVC. To not have to shell out so much $$$ for meh food. And don't get me wrong, I won't be cooking much, but you don't need to to escape huge meal bills. EAsy breakfasts, CS lunches and dinners out. Much cheaper than how we've done it before. We've never done a dining plan though. Doubt we ever will. We don't like being told where we can and cannot eat.

We will go back to Cape May.
PS
Not a seafood lover here but DH is. SO both of us were happy and our DS was happy w/ his choices.

Since I haven't been to Rose & Crown, I would have to vote for Cape May. We just ate their in Nov. and loved it. I am not a seafood eater, but the prime rib was great, along with the mashed potatoes and mac & cheese (not the standard Stouffer's variety). The desserts were amazing - my kids ate a TON! Overall, I'd definitely go back again. Great food and nice atmosphere.

We ate at both last week and enjoyed both. It's hard for me to pick one over the other because they are so different.
It you like buffets, then you'll probably enjoy CM. There is plenty of variety, including non seafood, although my son loved the crab legs! There was also a good variety of desserts to choose from.

R&C is not a buffet and therefore has a totally different atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food we order, although it was only me and my DH.

My kids would probably choose Cape May because they like eating at buffets where they're sure to find something they like.

I have done both and Rose and Crown is a million times better. The Food at Cape May borders on not so good to awful. Plus if you hit Rose and Crown around Illuminations time then you will have a nice view.

Are you traveling with kids? If so, you may want to check out the kids menu at Rose and Crown? I know my kids would not enjoy anything on the menu (one of the few places in the World that I have found). We are trying Cape May for the first time next week. :)
