Hi! My fiance is DYING to eat at the Rose and Crown so we booked it for a big family meal in late November. There will be 15 of us. My question is what would you rate the food there? Is it all he hopes it will be?

Thank you! :grouphug:

We had a family of 8 there in Jan. The reviews on the food were mixed from Yuck to Okay. The fish and chips were edible although they had been sitting and were cold and soggy.(the ones at the CS were sooooo much better) The chicken pasty was good, my SIL had leek soup and English Peas she said both were good. My DD's chicken breast was so overdone we sent it back twice, finally gave up and she just shared with us.

Desserts were very good, especially the english toffee pudding. The restaurant was completely out of Irish Cream in any manner shape of form so dessert drinks were pretty much out of the question.

The ability to go out and see Illuminations on the patio and return to our table for dessert was a nice treat.

Our server was obviously overwhelmed by the size of our group, but we were patient and all in all had a good time. Mainly due to the large amounts of beer consumed by a few members in the group!

R&C is one of our favorites. The beer is pricy, but it's the pub atmosphere we love. The restaurant is just about as good. I've enjoyed the food for the most part. It's hard to know what your DH expects. However, I think everyone will enjoy it. Try to get on the patio, or at least eat in time to be in the special viewing area for Illuminations.

:thumbsup2 MY DS11 and I both loved it! I had the bangers and mash and the sausage was so good my son got an extra order to go and then walked around Epcot for the next hour eating sausage out of a soda cup!

The mashed potatoes were mixed with a cabbage and a really yummy gravy.

We were so stuffed from the main meal we didn't eat dessert.

Rose and Crown is my favorite in WDW. (so far!)

It's one of our favorites! We go at least once (usually more) each trip.

Rose and Crown was a pleasant surprise for us in March. My husband had the fish and chips and we both thought they were very crispy and good. I had the pasty and I simply loved it. The English toffee pudding was awesome. We enjoyed this place so much, we are going back in September for another meal. We have been to England several times and usually do not rave on the food, but we both thought the Rose and Crown was good.
I'd give it a try, unless you want LeCellier (my personal favorite!).
Good Luck.

The Rose and Crown was one of the places I wanted to try this year but we just didn't get around to it. Hopefully we will be able to go again next year - my son will be 11 and he loves sausage also. :thumbsup2
