How attentive to special requests do you think they are at Rose and Crown Pub? I'm thinking I want the Bangers and Mash but I definitely want the gravy on the side.

Do you think I could get the Surf and Turf without the Surf? Last summer, we ate there and I had the steak. We enjoyed our experience so much, we booked again for out next trip but I just looked at the menu and there is no more steak! I am such a picky eater, there is not one other thing on the menu I could see myself ordering.

So do you think they'll make me a steak?

Oh, there are several things that I love, but the one item that I have had EVERY single trip has been the mushroom appetizer! DD21 and I always share this and it's a "must-have"

Rose & Crown is a must-do for us each trip! My hubby always gets bangers and chips (subbed for the mash) and I am a fan of the fish-n-chips.
They are happy to make substitutions.

I used to love that mushroom appetizer, but haven't seen it on the menu the last few years. Is it back on? I know it wasn't on the menu this past Dec, Sept, or last May when I was there. I also used to love the cheese plate appetizer before they changed it to the new sausage/cheese plate appetizer for two. I could make a meal out of those two items. I also love their sticky toffee cake.

You can sub the fish for something else (like fries, green beans, mash)

How is the burger or the grilled chicken for lunch? We are going in 2 weeks and DH is so excited he gets to try the fish and chips. I'm not a fish person and I definatly do not like fried fish also not a huge fan of anything with peas so my choices are limited. The chicken and the burger sound good just wandering if they are.

Surf and turf...DH loves steak and I love fish, so I give him my steak and he gives me the fish from his plate. We had a table on the patio for Illuminations in '08 and it was wonderful!
