Rose and Crown/Illuminations What time?

We are placing our PS times this week and are considering watching Illuminations from the Rose and Crown. What would be the ideal time to request PS times and what is the best way to ask to get an outside table. Any help would be appreciated

A lot of it is just plain luck. We were seated at 9:15 this past December at an outdoor table. Yes we did wait over an hour for our table with a PS. Did not request an outdoor table. It was great to see Illumination from the table but I like viewing it around the World better.

Rose and Crown is always so crowded, even during non-peak times. You can never be sure what time you will be seated, even with a PS.

A good time would be 7:30. When we were visiting in April 04 we had PS for 7:30 and asked to be seated outside. We had a 20 minute wait and had a great view for the show. Just make sure and have desert and coffe and you can stretch it out.

I made our reservation this morning for Rose & Crown and got 7:30 (my first choice). They specifically told me that I cannot request to be seated in any certain area (but I'll do it anyway).
