We have never eaten at Rose and Crown. If I make an ADR to eat here for dinner will we for sure be able to see Illuminations from where we would be sitting? TIA!

Not for sure from where you're sitting, but if you're seated inside you will be invited out onto the rear of the patio to (stand, I think) and view Illuminations.

When you check in for your reservation, you can ask to be seated outside; however, you must ultimately accept whatever table is ready for you when your name is called.

We have not done it ourselves yet but we have friends who say to make dinner reservations for around 8:30 and when you get there tell them that you would like a lagoon view table as you wish to stay and watch Illuminations. From what they have told us you have time to have a leisurely dinner and then the view is amazing for Illuminations. Hope the info helps.

I'm not sure an 8:30 dinner reservation would give you time to eat prior to Illuminations. Most people on the patio around 8:30 want to stay to see the show so there are not many available outside tables that late.

We usually make reservations at 7:30 or 7:45. So far we've been fortunate to be seated outside. That gives time for a relaxing dinner finishing around 8:45. Then we order dessert but ask them to hold it until after Illuminations is over. If you are seated inside the staff takes you down in front of the patio where there is a special section to watch the show. I believe you have to stand.

We have eaten at Rose and Crown many times. We make a 7:40 ADR and always ask for a patio table. We have succeeded about 30% of the time, and I think that is good. Everyone ask to be seated outside and I really think itis the luck of the draw.

The proper way to handle this is to get a 7:00-7:15 reservation and get seated on the patio. Don't even look at the menu until after the drinks have arrived. Once you have started on the drinks, look at the menu and order the appetizers/salads. When they arrive start to eat them, discuss what the main courses will be and then order the main courses. If you time it right, you will be ordering dessert around 8:30 and starting dessert about 8:45. The server will bring the check just before 9:00 and you can pay your bill while IllumiNations is in progress.

Make sure you give the server a larger than normal (25-30%) tip for having given such slow service.

I have a 7:10 ressie here and tried to bump it later today. No luck but she did tell me that at least on the day we are going the latest ressie is for 8:00. We are really going to have to stretch out dinner with our little ones but hopefully it will be worth it.

Thanks to you all! Sounds like a great plan Cheshire Figment!
