...there's nothing quite like it!

I LOVE that photo, especially with the rope in it. We made rope drop once in WDW, but haven't ever done it at DL. Maybe next trip! I'd love to get a photo like this one.

When DD was 4, we kept talking about getting to DCA for rope drop and how we were going to go ride Soarin' and then head to rope drop. She was getting more and more nervous and finally, on the verge of tears told us she REALLY didn't want to go on rope drop because she was scared. Poor thing, I wonder what she was imagining the rope drop ride to be!

:teeth: yeah, nothing like a good rope drop. Several years ago I was there with my mom. It was only a few minutes until the drop. We were stuck in the middle of the crowd until I yelled "Hey there's dad up there." We were able to make our way all up to the front. The funny thing is, my dad wasn't even on the trip. :rotfl:

The above is one of the very few Disney sins I've committed.:rolleyes1

I wouldn't be admitting to that if I were you. I hate it when people do stuff like that. All those other people were there before you; you didn't deserve to be in front of them...

I think it was a year ago someone started a Disney sin thread. You wouldn't believe what others confessed to. Ok Starshine, read EVERY post in this thread, then you can judge me. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2547131

Great photo OP!

I have learned may things on the DIS:

-no one cuts in line
-no one has credit card debt
-everyone feeds their children 100% healthy
-no one holds a huge spot for their family for any parade, fireworks, etc..
-everyone puts their shopping carts back, never leaves them in the parking lot
-everyone is 100% honest when ordering off menus even if their 10 year old who looks 8 will only eat chicken nuggets
-no one refills their last year's refillable mug
-no children over 5 use strollers
-no one ever puts a 5th person in their hotel room
-and drive over the speed limit? Never!

;) :rotfl2:

Dumb question: is there an opening show at DL? I was at MK this morning for the 40th (Phew - crazy crowds!!) and I love their show at the train station!

:rotfl2: Yeah, you're right! Everyone's perfect.

That's not a dumb question. I've been to Disneyland many times, and don't recall ever seeing an opening show unless you consider a marching band performing as soon as the park opens. :goodvibes

Without sounding weird, I just looked at this thread and saw that my best friend is in your second picture, of the people behind you in line. The one in the black sweatshirt with the blue and yellow DJ mickey. I was right next to him, and we were there at rope drop and saw the girl with the dog and everything.

Small world, huh? Haha.

Great photo. We were there for rope drop in Sept 2010 and it was great. Was our first time to DL and my first time to be there that early in any park. That photo brought back some great memories. Thanks for sharing.
