Rope Drop...Why Bother?

Thanks MouseEXP for sharing!!

Since we aren't going to be there after about 3, we're going to do Nemo right after the FL rides. Here's my rearranged order:
1. Get to gate by 7:40.
2. Peter Pan
3. Alice
4. Let C ride Matterhorn while I run for Space FP.
5. Mr. Toad
6. Pinnochio
7. Snow White
8. Nemo
9. Star Tours
10. Buzz and/or Autopia (if FP not ready)
11. Space Mtn. with FP
12. Get FP for Indy
13. HM
14. Splash (SR Line)
15. Pooh
16. Jungle Cruise
17. As soon as available, run and grab FP for BTMR
18. Lunch
19. Indy with FP
20. PoC
21. BTMR
22. Goal: finish by 3. Hotel break until 6:30. Then off to DCA.

Critiquest welcome. :duck:

This morning I entered the park after rope drop on a MM day. Pan had a posted 40 min wait. This was not accurate probably 15mins max. I did not ride Pan this morning. Alice said 20 mins, but there were only about 10 people in line. The wait was 3 mins. Then ride Nemo subs. Posted wait time was 29mins. Actual wait was 5mins. Waited less than 5mins for Space Mtn, which said 10mins. Headed over to HMH, which was a walk on. Then I had breakfast at River Belle Terrace before heading to work. Not bad for a 90-minute visit.

We do it if we can. It's a very cool experience that for sure get's the blood flowing and allows us to hit (As Hydro Guy put it - the low capacity/slow loaders).

With that said - would I drag my daughter out of bed to do it and spend the rest of the day cranky? Not likely.

When we got to HMH, we were in the first elevator of the day. So what? By 10am, we had ridden HMH, Splash, POTC, Indy and BTMRR. We could have easily ridden HMH multiple times if we wanted to.

This is exactly one of our strategies now. We go for 5 days. Three days we start at DL, two we start at DCA.

One of those days will be Magic Morning in which we tackle Fantasyland obviously.

Another morning at rope drop we hit Adventureland first, everyone else is still going to FL or TL and AL is virtually EMPTY - it was wonderful! We rode BTMRR (after the reno) 3 times in a 90min period while also going on HM, POTC, Splash and I don't remember what else.

Another morning, make a beeline for Tomorrowland, pulling Space FP right away as it's now my son's favorite.

For us, getting there at rope drop each morning helps us get the most important attractions done right away!

Yes, Hydro, I stand corrected. I don't agree it's a waste of time, and I am a total commando!

So, Hydro, what do you think? Nemo first or Matterhorn?

I would only do Nemo first during a crowded time and if I had multiple RDs. In general I would not do either first but would focus on other FL attractions. And finally, I just do not like Matterhorn anymore since they installed the new seats. Much less comfortable.

If I had to pick one, and wanted to do both, I would do Nemo because the Matterhorn line moves faster and that can be riddern later into the day with a reasonable line. Usually.
