With the MK railroad closed I was wondering what the rope drop show is and what the shows are at the other 3 parks.

At MK they do a welcome ceremony at the castle stage 5 mins before park opening, it's called Let the Magic Begin. Mickey Minnie and about 10 other characters come out to start the day with the help of the Fairy Godmother
The other parks don't do a show at all
Epcot has the Jammitors come out most days for rope drop. DHS moves people before park opens into Hollywood blvd then drops the rope, AK same, letting people in up to the Tree of Life and then dropping the rope

And just for clarity, the change from the MK opening show from the front/railroad to the castle stage happened well before the current railroad closure (it was early 2017 I believe) as it was part of a larger change in the MK rope drop setup that occurred at the time. It won’t be going back to the old show when the railroad eventually does reopen.

That's too bad. I really liked the railroad show.

Yeah, I don’t disagree with you there. The current show doesn’t pack the same tear-jerking punch as the old one, for me at least.

But I will concede that it (along with the pull back of security to the resorts, TTC, bus stop) is just about the best park/rope drop logistics change to happen to the MK in a long time. For a 9am opening, everyone is let in the front gates 7:45’ish-8am, then the castle show at 8:55am. You have that time to roam around Main Street, the Hub, do some shopping, get coffee, ride a Main Street Vehicle, take photos, etc. It creates a much more orderly arrival to the whole park entry experience that didn’t necessarily exist before.

So to me it was a change with mixed emotions, but as a rope dropper, ultimately I prefer the logistics of the current setup.

This is interesting. So with the new set up is it possible (or really even beneficial) to get that early park breakfast in order to get some emptier park pictures on Main Street? We love eating super early at Crystal Palace and getting some nice pictures, but maybe that won’t work anymore?
