Do you think it would be possible to do rope drop on our first day?

What time would you recommend getting there?

Don't know if we would be able to do it any other day as DD really isn't a morning person, hope this will change before we get there other wise she is going to miss a lot :(

I think it would be a perfect day to do it...you will after all be up at silly hour because of the time difference:) We normally get there about 30 mins or so before rope drop to stand in the centre for some good pictures of the show.

:rotfl2: Yes we will :rotfl2: do you need your tickets or is it before the ticket booths?

Not sure where to get our 21 day tickets from and don't know if they will be actual tickets :confused3

And sorry is rope drop at the start of the day i.e 9am

you will need your tickets but the ticket windows/guest services are just to the right of the turnstiles so not too far away. they start the show around 8:50am (assuming we are talking about magic kingdom, no idea why lol) so they can let everyone in at 9am exactly

As others said, perfect day for it! We were down for breakfast by 6am this summer in New York, because we were still on UK time!! :)

I'm really not a morning person either...I also found doing rope drop at the start of the trip a lot easier due to the time difference.

The first couple of days we're always up at stupid o'clock so rope drop on the first day is a good idea. Just check that your first day isn't a day with Morning Extra Magic Hours because they don't do rope drop when there is EMH apparently.

We did rope drop on our first day, totally by mistake though, we were staying off site and i didnt think the bus would get us thier till after the park was open.
I forgot all about the magic kingdom morning show, but was very happy when i realised we would get to see it. We also made it to Epcots opening the next day which was fun.

It's totally do able. I'm a heavy sleeper but with the time change etc I'm up and ready to go like PPs have said at stupid o'clock.
I have been known to be in the pool at 7am.
This trip we will be in MK :cool1: for our first full day. Which is THIS SUNDAY :banana::banana::banana:

Yeah very easy to do as your body clock will still be on UK time so you will get up early

Always good to do as you get your self into the magic on day one and can get alot done aswell

Just remember that if you needing to get a monorail/ferry, there will be LOTS of others wanting to do same thing and monorail doesn't open til 8.30... we literally just about made it! Was SO thrilled as DS had no idea they did that and to see his little face light up and him jumping up and down squealing with excitement was truly something when he doesn't usually show any emotion at all :) :) :) Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! :good vibes :) :) :)

Hi, most people have answered the rope drop thing anyhow, and I agree, first day will be fine. We (I) am not much of a morning person either but I schedule rope drop for our first 4 days of the trip due to the time difference advantage. We don't always make it past the first 2 days but it's pretty darn close and as MK is the only one with a little show anyhow it's not like a few minutes matter that much anyhow.

But, I did want to just also mention about your last comment. Please don't stress about DD missing out because she's not a morning person. There are a lot of rope drop fans and for sure, it has advantages, but please don't feel that it's a deal breaker to see everything or have a good time. Lots of people tour without doing rope drop and have a fantastic trip - as I say, I rope drop at the start but the 10 days after, no way. So I've done it both ways and can directly compare and trust me, it's not the end of the world if you don't make rope drop as long as you plan for it accordingly. FP+ will help with this a lot too.

Trying to tour in a way that suits other people can end in tears, touring in a style that suits your family is going to give a much better pay off- embrace and enjoy what you can do, not what you can't :)
