Looking for some advice on Rope Drop at Hollywood Studios. We would primarily like to ensure we get a good time for Jedi training. The park opens at 9:00, what would be the best (reasonable) amount of time to arrive early? Thanks.

On our last time there we arrived at around 8:30. They let us in at 8:45. The line was brutal. Took about 45 minutes in the Jedi Training line to sign up.

We were there last week. We had a PPO reservation st H&V at 8:35am. They let us into park at 8am. We went right to Jedi Traing sign up. No wait and go first pick of the time slot we wanted. I went by where the sign ups were at 9:10. There was only a small line....maybe 4-6 families. Not sure when you are going, but it wasn’t that bad in April with moderate crowds.

Also, you might consider a PPO breakfast reservation to give you an advantage.

In June 2016, they opened the gates around 8:20 and it was a mad rush to sign up. We waited about 30-40 minutes. Plenty of slots left but the wait was excruciating in the hot sun. In 2017, we did the PPO at H&V and were let in about 7:50ish and signed up prior to our breakfast. Took less than 5 minutes. Totally worth it to us.

Hello, I am brining this thread back up because we are heading back to Disney in a few weeks. My wife and I can’t remeber if our son needs to be with her when she goes to sign up for Jedi Training. My son and I were planning on RD a few rides.

In our experience, yes. I have heard from one recent report that the children do not need to be present anymore. But only the one. So unless I hear more, I will make sure to have my boys with me in June.

My sister was there early March. She needed to have the kids with her.
