We are staying at FW and want to rope drop DHS and we're going for Clark Griswold "first ones here" status! How can we be the first guests (or as close as possible) to enter the park? We have a car and also a driver who won't be going to the park with us so can be dropped off. I read you can be dropped at Boardwalk and walk to DHS but is that quicker than DW driving us directly to DHS? We are open to any and all modes of transport and will get going as early as necessary because "we are on a quest, a quest for fun!" Thanks!

If you want to be the absolute first, I'd think you'd have to walk from Crescent Lake so that you're there before the parking lot opens and skyliner starts running. That's the only access point where Disney isn't holding folks until an appointed time.

It seems like getting dropped off at HS would be faster than walking a mile from the Swan. What time are you planning to arrive at HS in your quest for front of the line?

Let’s see there are at least 20 tap lanes to enter the park so you can narrow it down to being one of the first 20 groups in line. I would pack a nice picnic basket with plain whir bread sandwiches… leave the family dog behind make sure you know not to attach the leash to the bumper since driver will be back in 30 minutes get dropped off at HS directly why risk what will happen with an extra mile walk from the BW… plenty of distractions and worse being near water the entire walk. Plan on getting there at least 2 hours before the park opens… enjoy the sandwiches in hopefully what is rain for the reason they are wet.

They don’t open the parking lot until an 1 hour before and the guards at Disney resorts can be restrictive on who they let in. Why not just take the first bus to HS from the fort?

The guard at BW won’t let you in without a reservation. You can be dropped off at the Swan (no guard), walk straight through the lobby and out the back door, turn right and take the bridge over the canal. Turn right again and walk the mile to DHS. You can do that as early as you want. Remember you’ll have to wait for Security to open before you can get to the turnstiles.

Had to laugh. I am a serious planner for my trips and produce a spreadsheet prior to each one with all of the ADR LLs and what not. Amongst our family it’s been known as the Griswald schedule since I can remember! 🤣
