Making a weekend trip in december.. (12/4-12/7) which means we have 2 days in the park.. AKA 4 parks in 2 days. We've been well over 15 times, but we have never done a trip any less than 5 days/6 nights. With having to cram 4 parks in 2 days, we will be doing rope drop also for the first time at 9am AK & 8am HS.

What are your tips for rope drop?
Are you able to just walk on rides if you toot and shoot over there? What is your average wait time? (ex: EE, Dinosaur, RRR, TT)

If your there for rope drop you shouldn't have a problem walking on to the safari and then having a minimal wait at Everest after that. I've done this a few times and walked right on and then waited no more than 5-10 min for EE.

HS is harder if your priority is ToT and RRC than you'd be able to get those done fairly easy but TSM would see a much longer wait by the time you get there.

My favorite rope drop story:

I had a co-worker recently telling me about her trip to Disney World. They seemed to be pretty good planners and tried to maximize their time the best they could.

She was very excited to tell me about her experience riding Midway Mania without a Fast Pass. The got up really early, got to the gates about 45 minutes before they opened and waited in a pretty large crowd. Then they hurried as fast as they could to the ride and the wait was *only* 15 minutes. By the time they got off the line was almost an hour long. There were people all over the place.

I rode the same ride 4 times in about an hour late at night and didn't have to deal with the crowds.

I have so many tips. Should I do a list?

1. Dont look down.
2. Hold on tight. You can lose your grip.
3. Have your harness firmly attached the whole way.
4. Dont do it alone. Thats for sure.

You can get a lot done at the parks if you are there at rope drop and you hit it hard until 11 am or so.

At AK I go first to Safari, then Everest, Kali and Dinoland.

DHS if you want TSM, I would not touch it without a FP+; GO directly to RnRC, ToT, then anything else you want to do.

Safari walk on, Everest as many times as you can (15 min wait), then dinosaur 10-15 min wait

Straight to toy story at rope drop (5 min if you hurry-line will be long once you get off!) - well, maybe not since you aren't going during a really busy time - ride again if you can

Rock n roller coaster next. Wait will be around 20 min probably unless you ride toy story twice then still probably only 30 which is doable. Then ride single rider again. Or just ride single rider to start with a couple of times if you don't mind it

Then TOT

Just my suggestions...

If you are trying to cram things in, my advice would be to get to the park at least a half hour before opening so you can be ahead of the masses entering the park.

At DHS, if you are in the first wave entering you can go directly to TSMM and be in and out within 10-15 minutes. Then, if you are willing to use the single rider line at RNRC you can go there next and should see a short wait. Then you can go to TOT and the wait there should still be reasonable. Many times we have been able to do those 3 rides in the first hour without a FP.

At DAK, I agree with those who say to go to the Safari first and then Everest. the wait there should still be short on a Sunday morning, and you can make it even shorter if you use the single rider line (if it's open). We usually go from EE to Dinosaur, and the wait there is usually short in the first hour. I can't tell you about Kali first thing in the morning because we don't like to get that wet that early. In December it might be a little chilly early in the morning.

My sweet spot is to arrive 45 mins before opening to be at the front of the RD crowds. Although AK isn't that bad. Follow a good touring plan and your morning will be great. Get your FP+ for your 2nd park in the afternoon.

We did 4 parks in 2 days during Christmas week last year - very doable to hit all the highlights. We did have to skip Soarin' and ToT but otherwise managed most of the major headliners :)
