Rope Drop Direction -- Which Way Do YOU Go?

Which Way Do You Go At Rope Drop?

  • We turn left through Adventureland

  • We use our noodles and go right into Tomorrowland

  • Straight through the castle for us -- to Fantasyland

  • We're into Training -- so we catch the train and get off where we feel like it

  • We zip into Tomorrowland and ride the Skyway over to Fantasyland

  • Other -- because someone said there always has to be an "other" option

So, the park is mostly empty, you've got to get to your favorite rides before the crowd shows up...

So which way do you go?

Please vote in the poll and elaborate on why you go the way you do...

Depends on how many days we are doing rope drop at MK.

If we only do 1 day, we usually hit Tomorrowland for Buzz than head to Fantasyland for a Peter Pan FP. We then head back to ride Space Mtn and Buzz again, and then head back to Fantasyland.

If we have 2 mornings at MK, we rush to Fantasyland first on one day- do everything there, then head to Liberty Sq and Frontierland.

On the second morning, we cut through Tomorrowland Terrace and make a beeline for Buzz. After at least 4-5 rides, we grab a FP for Space and do the rest of Tomorrowland, then head across the hub to Adventureland.

Of course, with the New Fantasyland, our habits might change. We'll see how it goes in November!! :thumbsup2

Well I think the second to last option would be difficult to do unless Disney has invented a time machine... ;)

I would do that option if it were still possible...I instead hit Frontierland first then Fantasyland then Tomorrowland

Yup. Time Machine Required.

Anyway, I go to Tomorrowland at RD and get Space taken care of. I may or may not ride something else but usually just go to Frontierland from there, usually grabbing coffee along the way.

Over many many WDW trips we have learned to go left! To Adventurand then around counter clockwise. Most people head to Tomorrow land and Space Mountain. By the time we get to Liberty Square we have rode most ride up to there, and then we might skip FL and jump to Tomorrow land and Space mountain, most early riders have moved on since then.

Works every time. Done with left side main attractions by 12 at the latest. Then you have the rest of the day for FL and TL.

We usually start with POC pirate: and then head back to Frontierland.

Yup, we're clockwise people and start in Adventureland....Jungle Cruise, POTC....Splash..

Second visit to the MK, Tomorrowland is first and we're off counter clockwise ....

We have never been there at rope drop! I have only been there early for breakfast at the Crystal Palace but after that the park already has people in it. However now that Starbucks is there....... :coffee: I might have to try it!!

Usually visit MK three times per trip. First time, we go right to Tomorrowland, since it's our fave.

Second time, straight thru the castle to Fantasyland, since it takes all morning to see everything.

Third time (usually departure day), we have breakfast at Sleepy Hollow, then ride the riverboat, catch anything we missed, and then depart.

Me, too.

Last year we had multiple rope drop days so the first day we just took our time, ended uo going to FL first but after browsing. This time one day we will go to new FL first, but for my daughter Whois 6. If not for her I would probably head to the left

We did rope drop at MK three times on our last trip. Two were to Fantasyland and one was to Tomorrowland. On one of the days we went to Fantasyland it wasn't our original plan. We had an 8:15 ADR at CP and intended to start in Adventureland after breakfast, but since we got out before park opening we headed to FL for ETWB. I had been trying to figure out how to do ETWB without a long wait and concluded it would have to be very late in the day or if we were able to make the first group. If not for that we would have gone three different directions on three different days.

Totally agree, go against the flow

We went to MK three times last time, two of them were rope drop. First we went straight through to Fantasyland for Belle and the other we turn left and went to Adventureland. We always left Tomorrowland for last, I really don't know why.

We hit Space Mountain first, then over to FrontierLand for the other mountains. That said, if I had a little kid, it would be FantasyLand all the way to start.

Frontier Land and hit BTMRR & SPLASH then we headed for SPACE MNT & did all the rides in that area. It worked for us on Memorial Day. We did FL Twds the end of the night before Wishes and the attractions: POTC and such were walk on.

We go to Fantasyland first, but we don't go through the castle, we go around through Liberty Square and head for Peter Pan first.

waaaaaaiit-is the skyway back open?!?!? i hope so! haven't been in 2 years so i'm a little behind. i miss it!

we always start in tomorrowland and go counter-clockwise. ride buzz and get space mountain fast passes. we jump ahead and get fast passes for the next land first, then do the non fast pass rides while we wait.

We start in Frontierland - HM, BTMRR, Splash then move to Adventureland - POTC, JC, etc. Grab PP FP's on our way to Tomorrowland & do Monsters, Stitch (DD loves it), People Mover, COP & Speedway. Pull FP for Space if our window has opened & hit PP using FP before taking a lunch break.

We are hit/miss with most of FL so usually we're ok if we miss parts of it. Actually our biggest must-do there is probably BOG & Gaston's Tavern. DD is a huge Ariel fan but is totally underwhelmed with VotLM, feels like once is enough for ETWB... she'd rather visit the Tangled bathrooms; :rotfl: & the new Dumbo queue makes waiting there for SB (esp in the hot mid-afternoon) pretty pleasant.

DH has sworn off SW until something dramatic changes with that ride - it's his absolute least favorite ride across the 4 parks. (We like to rile him up & hum the tune periodically when he's within earshot, lol.)
