Rope drop and how early

I'll be staying at All Star Sports. (Solo trip!) and I land tomorrow morning!


I want to be at the parks as early as possible, how early should I be there before a park opens? 30 minutes? 45 minutes? Any tips for getting the first bus? When is the first bus of the day?

Buses start running at 6:30 am.

We try to get to the bus stop 65-70 min before park opening. That usually puts us at the park 30-50 min before park opening depending on bus schedule, etc. Being there 50 min early really isn't necessary, it's just hard to know exactly how long it will take you to get there so we have a little cushion built in.

Awesome! I'm staying at All Star Sports too! I'm arriving Tuesday early morning.
My birthday is on Friday.
I usually travel solo but am bringing a friend this time.
I am teaching her how to plan a Disney trip and this will be her 1st visit.
She's looking forward to bringing her family next year. I'm going to show her the ropes.

I'm a rope dropper. I generally go out for the bus at least hour before the parks open.
On Magic Kingdom days I go out a little earlier, because I want to make sure I am there for the opening show
which starts about 15 minutes prior to park opening.

I have heard rumors that the buses are starting closer to 7am, instead of 6:30am, for a 9am opening. I have not witnessed this myself though.

We are at Pop this week. We've been at the bus stop around 8:00 (maybe 7:50 for MK) and we've arrived at all the parks before rope drop. Often let through the turnstiles a bit before opening and allowed only part way in.
