Does rope drop start when emh begin? Or do you have to come back to the entrance at park opening to see rope drop??

I am planning on doing a MK rope drop. But is EPcots rope drop worth it?? It will be a late night for us the night before.

Thanks!!

You are confusing "rope drop" with the opening show. The show happens at "rope drop" time.

During EMH, there may or may not be a show at all. But if there is one, it's at the earliest opening time. They don't do a second one an hour later.

Edited to add: Epcot doesn't do a show. Rope drop simply means the time the park opens to admit guests. It's worth it to get there early for FP's to Soarin' and Test Track though.

Thanks for the iinfo. If you use epcots morning emh , can you see everything? world showcase hours show opening at 11am, will it be open for emh??

During morning EMH, only a few attractions in FW are open, nothing in WS.

Actually with the exception of this past August all the other times I have been to Epcot for the park opening no matter if it was AM Extra Magic Hour or the regular park opening they still did a mini show. Basically at the water fountain in Future World all the guests would wait behind the rope and the characters would come out to meet all the guests, plus the Epcot family of the day would ride out in a Test Track car.

I'm so glad you posted this, because I thought I was going crazy!

We went to Epcot on October 5 for the AM Extra Magic Hour rope drop, and that's all they did....dropped the rope....the middle one in front of the ticket area. They never came over to drop the rope on the side where we were standing, so someone next to us dropped it for them.

It was our last day, and I was so disappointed. I thought they normally had the rope drop show with the characters by the fountain. Now I know I didn't imagine it all!

I have always seen the characters at Epcot at the rope drop.

Like I said in my earlier reply they didn't do the characters at Epcot when I went for AM Extra Magic Hour this past August, instead they did this. There was a rope set up at the Future World entrance gates and after we got into Epcot everyone was allowed to walk over to the attractions they wanted to go on, so there was no rope drop show next to the water fountains of Future World.

That was exactly what happened when we were there last week. :sad1:

What show is at rope drop and where?

MK has the most elaborate show, followed by AK then, Epcot and DHS do a little thing. Epcot and DHS I would not condier as show as much as a countdown down together. DHS and Epcot are not worth arriving to see the show IMO but the point is getting there early to get in the lines first.

MK's show is a must see for everyone, it is held on the train station platform and you can watch from outside the park or outside the turnstiles. The show is usually held 15 min or so before opening time.

AK's show is cute and more elaborate than Epcot and DHS. It is also held about 15 min or so before opening time at the front of the park.

Does MK do their opening ceremony on an EMH morning? :confused3

They may or may not do the Opening show in EMH mornings, they can and do often, but not always.
