On April 8, we are planning to Rope Drop EPCOT at 8:00 during EMH morning, ride Soarin' and Test Track (single rider) and then hi-tail it to DHS for Rope Drop at 9:00.

:teleport:

Do you think it can be done?

WARNING: The more posters that say "NO," the bigger the challenge becomes!

I don't have to say, "No."

The clock will likely do it for me.

DHS' will likely "rope drop" about 15 to 30 minutes before 9AM, regardless
of the 9AM posted opening time.

No way! I want the HONEST results! If ya'll do it, the Dole Whips are on me!:faint:

You won't make it. Even if you have absolutely no wait at all at either TT or Soarin', you still have travel time. Walk time from front of Epcot to TT, then Soarin', then walk time back to exit. Back to the car, then from Epcot parking to DHS parking. Then shuttle or walk to front gate of DHS.

All that travel in park-open traffic will take you the bulk of the hour between 8 & 9. And if DHS opens its standard 15 min early, there will be a pretty decent crowd on Hollywood Blvd by the time you get there.

I guess that depends what you mean by 'make it.'

Epcot will open a LITTLE early. If you are FIRST in line on Test Track. Let's say you are getting OFF the ride at 8:05. Then, off to Soarin. Five minutes to get to the ride. Then add five minutes ON the ride. That is with no waiting on EITHER ride. Then, ten minutes to the INTL gateway, and twenty minutes to HS. You should make it AS they are opening.

All you have to do is be the first person to ride on Soarin AND Test Track.

Good luck!

This is the only way I can see it happening. If you are dependent on Disney buses, I'm gonna say "no". If you are driving on your own, I'm gonna say not very likely at all. If you are planning to use Intl gateway, only possible if you can get the first rides on both Soarin' and TT.

Though, I'd recommend Soarin' first, then the single rider line at TT to bypass what line there might be there.

I was thinking the same thing. They would need to jog from IG to DHS... cut through Boardwalk Inn by going through the pool area... it saves quite a bit of distance. Last month I used this route to speed walk between DHS gates and IG and made it in 17 minutes.

We've actually managed rope drop at two parks in the same day using extra magic hours (EMH), but not in the way, or at the parks, you're wanting.

During the slowest time of the year (September) we went to Magic Kingdom, saw the opening show, rode Dumbo and then, after finding out both Big Thunder and Splash were down and nothing else we wanted to really ride was open for EMH, we left after less than 30 minutes in the park and headed to Epcot via Monorail. We arrived right as they were opening--heard the announcement from the monorail platform--but were well back in line, so that put us in line at Test Track 10-15 minutes after scheduled park opening with a still extremely short, almost nonexistent, line. (No one in front of us until right before you go into the boarding area in old configuration.) Again, this was on a day the park didn't actually open prior to scheduled time due to the low crowds, and we got pretty lucky with quick monorail connection at the TTC.

It was kind of a perfect storm and, even then, not even close to what you're trying to do. Had we rode Splash and Big Thunder as planned/wanted before heading to Epcot we EASILY would have added 30-40 minutes, even with low waits, to our arrival time at Test Track. And that's for attractions that are, literally, right next to each other.

I'm going to say no as well, but you'll be close (re: w/in 15-20 minutes). If you were planning on only doing either TT or Soarin' then probably, but both.... :sad2:. You would have time everything perfectly (re: first on Soarin', no wait for single rider TT, then sprint over to DHS via IGW for it to happen.

Good luck though. DS13 & I did a power day (re: all mountains and extreme rides in the 4 parks). It was the challenge of hitting everything that made it so fun! So, if you're up for it, I say go for it! :thumbsup2:

That's exactly what we are planning, 4 parks and 15 "top" attractions.

EMH EPCOT: Soarin', TT
DHS: TSMM, RnR, ToT, ST
AK: DINO, KS, KRR, EE, PW
MK: PoC, Splash(FP+), SM(FP+), BLSRS(FP+) (BTMRR is in refurb)

On a July trip, DHS Rope Drop with FP-, we rode ToT, RnR, ST, and TSMM(with FP-) and were loading TSMM at exactly 10:00. Although I don't think this is still possible, we need to be out of DHS around lunch time to make it work the rest of the day.

BTW, it's not that we "have" to do this, as we are there for several days at each park. It's that we "want" to do it. The challenge is what makes it fun.

I will post the results after the trip. Once I recover. I will give you the actual times of everything.

:thumbsup2

Agreed! You'll be exhausted when you're done, but you'll feel like you actually achieved something wonderful! FYI: we did it the first Friday in December, when they were taping the Christmas special. My DD(11) was one of the girls that danced in the opening sequence with Neil Patrick Harris. On that day DD was practicing else where in the park, so DS(13) & I were on our own. Now, we didn't have to do it either, but we were motivated by a video posted here a few months back where two guys rode all the rides in the four parks in one day. Granted, we weren't up for that, but we did at least have the initial plan of trying to hit all of the extreme rides. Fortunately crowds were relatively low and we did not to get stuck in any lines where the rides went down. If we did, there is no way we would have been able to accomplish everything that we did in the 13 hours it took us from rope drop to final departure.

Here's what we did it:
@ MK for rope drop EMH @ 8am: rode SM x2, Splash, BTMRR x2, PoC, & JC w/ FP-. I think we left by ~11am.
Then bus to AK for EE (single rider) & Dino FP-. Left by 12:30.
Then bus to DHS for RnR x2 (single rider), ToT x2, ST. Left by 3:30.
Walked to Epcot via the IGW for Maelstrom, TT x2 (once w/ FP+ & once single rider), Sum of All Thrills x2, SE (FP+ - didn't need to as we only allowed in ahead of about 15 people), JIIWF (to kill time while waiting for our FP+), & Soarin' (FP+). Left by 9pm.

When we made it back to our room at POR, DS literally hopped on the bed and feel asleep with his clothes on. And, needless to say, we were hurting the next day while waiting during the parade taping. But, DS still refers to it as one of the best days of his life.

So, if you do everything you aim to do, you'll have some great memories! :thumbsup2

Curious how it turned out.

The last full day of our September trip has Morning EMH for Animal Kingdom, and Evening EMH for Magic Kingdom. I've seriously debated talking my wife into doing a 20-ride, four-park challenge. Five rides at each of the four parks.

And because we never get a rental car, we'd be doing it with only Disney transportation.

I guess it all depends on a few factors:
How fast did you run?
Did you fly?
Did you run on water?
Were you the only one allowed in those parks that morning?
How'd it go? pixiedust:
