Rooms to avoid at the Poly?

Are there any rooms to avoid at the Poly?? It seems like all the pictures I have seen are wonderful, so I am not inclined to make any specific requests, but I was wondering if anyone had ever had a less than desirable room while staying there.

My family and I did not stay in this Longhouse, however when walking to the TTC we could not believe how far out the Tahiti Longhouse is from the Great Ceremonial House. While I agree it's great for those that want to stay close to the TTC, it's still the longest Longhouse away from the Great Ceremonial House.

I think everyone will have their own opinion because we loved Tahiti! It is about a 5 minute walk to the Great Ceremonial House, but it is so pretty! We also liked that it is quieter and only about 5-7 minutes to the TTC so getting to Epcot is quick. Our view was fantastic! Tahiti is also one of the newer buildings so the rooms are slightly bigger which is great for a family of five.

There is a website entirely devoted to the Poly. I forget the name though - maybe Tikiman something. We used that site to decide which longhouse to request.

Whats the quickest way to get from poly to downtown disney??????

My opinion is if you have your own transportation is to drive there, because for whatever reasons the buses to Downtown Disney from the Magic Kingdom Resorts seem to take forever.

We too stayed in Tahiti and really enjoyed it. You could walk right over to the TTC and also you were right on the beach with a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the ceremonial house, but no big deal. It was also quiet.

To get to downtown disney, you would have to take the bus.

We really liked Tokelau. Great garden views on both sides, larger rooms that all have patios or balconies(just like Tahiti and Rapa Nui), and it is a beautiful 5 minute(or less) walk to the GCH and a 5-7 minute walk to the TTC.

I would suggest renting a quick taxi. A minimal cost for a huge time/hassle saver! Incidently, we also used a taxi when going to AK( my DD doesn't do well on buses) and I REALLY don't like buses if I can avoid them...but that's just my issue...crammed together in a tin box on wheels trying not to make too much eye contact with people you have no interest in getting to know other than the obvious smells emitting from their armpits as they hang on the bars standing over you.... Gotta love it!
