Hello,
I am not sure if this tip has been posted before so please forgive me in advance.

We have found that when requesting non smoking rooms that Disney will try to accommodate but cannot guarantee that you will receive the room you want.
However if you state that you require a non smoking room for medical reasons they have to comply for fear of litigation :thumbsup2

Thanks good tip - I hate smoking and going into a room that has been smoked it previously even if none smoking now - I have found that several times in DLRP.

not too sure but i think all disney rooms are non smoking now ?

Don't flame me, but I do get bit cross when people do this! I have asthma which is aggravated quite considerably by cigarette smoke. Many times, particularly in the US we have requested a non-smoking room, and arrievd to find that there are none left. It's very uncomfortable trying to sleep whilst wheezing away, and I would be annoyed if someone had taken a non smoking room in this way if there was medically no reason why :(

As a case in point my DW also has Asthma as does my youngest DD, but perhaps the point should be that a lot more non smoking rooms be made available in the first place

totally agree

 We completely understand how you feel we do not smoke, (our parents do) and we hate the smell it gets into EVERYTHING, after visiting family we have to take a good bath to scrub off the odour of cigarette smoke and put our clothes staight in the washing machine on an intensive programme.
(I had very bad bronchitis as a child due to it being constantly in the air at home:sad1:)
I hate the smell and was shocked to find our room at the Seqouia Lodge at DLP reeked of it and there was an ash tray in the room. They said the room was clean and they did not have any other rooms available at the time due to a refub of the hotel. I think that the majority if Brits stopping at the time were smokers and they just put us all in the same area despite us stating we wanted a non smoking room.I will not take my family back there unless they change their policy on smoking in the hotel rooms or adjacent to the hotels:eek:
Thank goodness this has NEVER been an issue for us at WDW, we have always been allocated a non smoking room at each hotel we've stayed at.

Have any of you seen the anti-smoking campaign ad at the moment asking why the undertaker wears so much protective gear and he says it's due to the harmful chemicals he handles and then he's told that those same chemicals are in cigarette smoke but no one is protected from it when they breathe in the cigarette smoke??

As DD has similar complaint I agree more availability of non-smoking is the solution :)

I agree too :) I don't smoke and I don't like smoking rooms but I couldn't lie to get one.

I thought so too... but sadly - no... dh and I stayed in a smoking room at AKL on our last trip as the only non smoking room had a terrible view and we had spent a fortune to stay there... it was only 2 nights so we did survive!

Have to agree on this one.
DS has asthma and can't tolerate any hint of cigarette smoke :)
Yep, what's needed are definitely more non smoking rooms :thumbsup2

I can't stand smoking rooms either. Hopefully all the rooms will become non smoking as the likes of POR and All stars don't have windows to open do they?

Isnt the Swan and Dolphin non smoking though now? I got a quote from them a few days ago and im sure it said non smoking hotel.

I hate the smell of smoke and do suffer from allergies which can make smoking rooms uncomfortable to be in!
