Rooms for 5 + infant

Possibly there are more connecting rooms in the Values than the Moderates? We go with our 3 grown daughters and as you can imagine one bathroom just doesn't cut it. LOL

It depends on the resort. The All Star Music has fewer connecting rooms, as many of them were used to create the family suites.

Thanks for the input everyone... doesn't seem like anyone thinks it's a good idea!

What if we rent DVC points and do a deluxe studio at the Polynesian? Looks like we could do that for around $300 a night, and they have 2 bathrooms and look to be about 450 sq feet. We'd still be sleeping in the same room... if we wanted a 1 bedroom villa it looks like the cheapest option would be at AKL, but at over $400 a night through renting points.

Ugh, given this to much thought for one night... I'm going to bed.

More than likely you won't be able to book a Poly villa for a long time. I'm thinking the DVC members will be booking them up. And they definitely are not $300 a night. Or are you talking about the standard rooms? those only have 1 bathroom.

Honestly, while we were fine at Riverside (2 adults, a 13 year old, a 7 year old and a 4 year old) I think 3 adults plus three kids would be REALLY snug. I imagine the rooms at Caribbean would be similar. I wouldn't be comfortable with my MIL in quarters THAT close, but YMMV. There is really no privacy to speak of. Again, that was fine for the five of us, but with another adult, I think we wouldn't be very comfortable

I agree. We have stayed at POR. While it was great for DH, myself, and our DD, I don't think I would want to add additional adults. DD was 1 at the time and between the Pack and Play and the Stroller, it was tight.

We are actually going to WDW next month. It will be DH, DD (4), DD(9 mo.) my mom, and me. We are renting a suite at AOA. We didn't even consider trying to cram all of us in a room at POR or CB.

On our first trip to WDW, we stayed in one of the buildings that were converted to DVC studios. They were not bad for five people (we had the two of us, our 4 yr old and our two nieces - 9 and 11). BUT, with the renovation, they reduced the living area by about half and took that space for the bathroom. The bathroom used to be a long narrow bathroom with sink on one side, tub and toilet along the other. Now the bathroom takes up about 1/3 of the entire space in the room. With the queen bed and queen sleeper, they are right next to each other with little space between them. No room for a pack and play for the little one unless you put him in the bathroom. I'd go with two rooms, a two bedroom villa, a cabin or family suite for a family of six.

I would seriously consider renting DVC. As a family of 5, we do it every time we stay on site. I like to spread out since we have little ones and don't do commando on vacation. Since I don't mind preparing 2 meals a day on vacation (my kids r picky and I won't pay for the DDP just for them to say they don't like it)....it works for our budget since there is a kitchen and w/ littles the washer and dryer are right there in your room. Daves DVC rentals has a good site you can look at the occupancy and estimated rate for your dates.....just to price things out. Generally speaking the largest rooms are going to be at OKW. OKW and SSR are the least expensive resorts, while the newer DVC resorts will be more expensive.

With an infant, you need a space for them to have quiet sleepy time, and MAN it makes a different if you can get them into a separate room. We have learned our lesson at Shades of Green, our usual resort. For a while, we got connecting rooms, and while that was great when he was little, as he got older it wasn't that great. And once he went down, everyone went down - no watching TV or chatting with each other or anything. Silence from 6pm to 9am.
Then we got a suite! Wow! We could put him down and then spread out into different areas while he was sleeping in another area. Perfect. For a party your size and an infant? Rent the points! Beach Club, Boardwalk (Very pretty, btw), Old Key west, Wilderness lodge - any of them Just do it and I think you will be tons happier.
