Do they ever go down in cost? Where do you find the best deals? For off season, do the rates get any cheaper when the time gets closer? I just looked at a couple days in early March during the week and they are $350 a night! :eek:Is that typical?

Yea, that price isn't a big surprise. I have seen 2XX on the AP hotel calendar.

The winter specials aren't out, and I would guess the rates will go down when they are released. You can go ahead and make a room only reservation for the time being if you want to make sure you have a room for sure.

With the Fall30 Special, the rooms are only $224/night if you book 2+ nights between 10/1 and 12/16. I just got PPH for $175/night. This rate is good until 9/30.

That is obviously significantly cheaper. If you book now and a special offer comes up then *from what I've heard from a CM* they will adjust your rate to that offer if you call. I think you can get e-mails with the most recent offers but I'm not sure if that's only for Disney Rewards members...

When you book early, save at least 30% at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort!* Select a 2-night minimum stay and save on arrivals from October 1 to December 16, 2010. With so many dates to choose from, it's easy to plan your dream getaway!

Save at Least 30% When You Book By September 30

* Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel — Enjoy 30% off standard room rates.*

* The Disneyland Hotel — Enjoy 35% off standard room rates.*

* Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa — Enjoy 40% off standard room rates.*

When I called WDTC I was told they adjust rates, convert to discounted packages (the 2 free nights, etc) as long as you call and request it. :)

give hotels.com a try..I find rates there that beat AP prices.

This thread just got my rated adjusted down by $100. I booked a room at the Grand with My PIN about a month ago. Saw this thread and made me think to check room rates again. Checked and rate total had gone down by $100.
Called Disney and they adjusted my rate. I am sure I can find some good use for that extra $100!

Add $20 to those savings and you have a Fantasmic dessert buffet!

Just remember room rates do not contain taxes and resort fee's unless specifically stated.

The OP is going in March, and there is no longer a resort fee as of 01/01/2011. But, there is a seperate parking fee of $15/day being implemented at that point. So if you're driving, you end up behind. If you're not, you end up ahead on that one.

Just a point of clarification for everyone's benefit. There is no Fantasmic dessert buffet. It is a dessert box with reserved seating at the show. The buffet was discontinued a few years back. However, you are completely right about the savings adding up to the cost of 2 people enjoying the reserved viewing experience at Fantasmic! Great point!

No resort fees?? wow..of course their tax is still pretty high.

Sorry, I was not aware that the resort hotels or any of the GNH had totally drop the resort fee's, city taxes, and non-valet parking fee's. Maybe I missed that on a previous post.

I only found out when I called to reserve our rooms. I asked what the cost of parking was and the agent told me that the resort fee currently covered parking, but in 2011 there is no longer a resort fee and rather a new parking charge.
